Monday Morning Mediabase 07/25/2022

Just like last week, there are seven milestones in the 7 month.Lucky?

This week, Scotty McCreery officially gets his number one for “Damn Strait”. I had erroneously thought that Scotty had peaked last week (getting pipped at the post by Tim McGraw), but ptebwwong correctly posted that his song had not had its push week yet. Sure enough, this week “Damn Strait” is firmly at number one on the Country chart and his next single “It Matters To Her” has been picked. The label must have pushed hard for Tim McGraw’s “7500 OBO” to hit number one. It increased 1700 spins last week and lost 4870 spins this week (down to 17th on the chart with 3447 spins – Morgan Wallen peaked 2 weeks ago and has only dropped to 4th).

Speaking of Voice star Morgan Wallen, he gets three milestones this week. “You Proof” is his latest single and it goes top 40 on Country. Meanwhile, his last Country single “Wasted on You” has crossed over to Pop and HAC where it went top 40 on both. On the BB200, Morgan’s “Dangerous: The Double Album” climbs to 4th (from fifth) with 48K in equivalent album sales (-2% from the previous week).

X-Factor’s Harry Styles’s “Harry’s House” is right ahead of “Dangerous” on the BB200 at 3rd (4th last week) with 52K in equivalent album sales (-2% from the previous week). Harry achieves two milestones this week with “Late Night Talking”. The single goes top 10 on HAC and top 30 on HAC. Harry is getting a lot of spins.

Finally, we circle back to Idol with Danny Gokey from Season 8. His “We All Need Jesus” goes top 30 on CAC format. The single also features the Voice’s Koryn Hawthorne, but she is not credited on Mediabase.
