Seven milestones to kick off our 7th month of 2021.
Lauren Alaina’s collaboration with Jon Pardi has been toiling away in the 40s on the Country charts for a while. This week, the Season 10 runner-up’s single moves into the top 40 (39th).
Danny Gokey is back on the chart with “Stand in Faith”. The single debuts on the CAC chart in the top 50 and is from his upcoming album, “Jesus People”. This album is scheduled to be released August 20th, 2021. Danny came in third on the 8th season of Idol.
Season 5’s shock boot was Chris Daughtry who was eliminated 4th. He quickly dusted himself off, signed a contract and formed a band named after himself. Daughtry had a lot of success early on and can add another achievement this week as “Heavy is the Crown” goes top 20 on Active Rock.
Jennifer Hudson was the shock boot for Season 3 of Idol. “Here I Am (Singing My Home” is an original song from the upcoming Aretha Franklin biopic (“Respect”). The song debuted on the charts last week and moves into the top 40 of Urban Rhythm and Blues chart this week.
Former One Directioner Niall Horan manages two milestones this week with the same single. Niall collaborated with Anne-Marie on “Our Song” which is part of Anne-Marie’s “Therapy” album. The song has been on HAC for a while, but this week, it debuted on AC and Pop.
Finally, we have Tate McRae. She first gained traction on the 13th season of “So You Think You Can Dance” and has since built a musical career. Tate already has a song on Pop and AC. This week, her collaboration with Khalid “working” debuted on the AC chart.
On the Billboard 200, Morgan Wallen’s “Dangerous: The Double Album” is 6th this week with 47K equivalent albums (-3% from last week)
