Seven milestones this Monday Morning to close out the month of May. The Billboard Chart Update is included.
Former members of X-Factor bands double down on the debuts this week. Camila Cabello acrimoniously left Fifth Harmony last December and her first solo song is racing up the airplay charts (despite lagging sales). “Crying in the Club” debuts in the top 30 on Pop and top 50 of HAC. Liam Payne’s One Direction went on hiatus in December 2015 after 5 albums. He is the last of the group to debut a single. “Strip that Down” featuring Quavo debuts in the top 40 of Pop and top 50 of Rhythmic.
Speaking of former One Direction members, Harry Styles chocks up another milestone by going top 30 on AC. The song is top 30 in 4 formats. Four of the former members of One Direction are currently on the airplay charts.
There are two milestones from Idol this week. Lauren Alaina from Season 10 of American Idol collaborated with Kane Brown on “What Ifs”. The song entered top 40 on Country this week. Jennifer Hudson is releasing her single to AC this week and the song debuts ahead of that at 50th on the chart.
