Six milestones for Easter Monday.
Four milestones on the Country chart this week. First up is The Voice’s Morgan Wallen who races into the top 5 with “Chasin’ You”. “Chasin’ You” is the third single from “If I Know Me” to achieve this milestone on Country and seems poised to hit number one. The top 5 is actually pretty full of people we are tracking with Gabby Barret at number 2 and Ingrid Andress at 5. Blake Shelton as the permanent coach on The Voice is 4th, so one could argue that 4 out of 5 are reality show related (especially since that song is a collaboration with another Voice coach and they fell in love while coaching on The Voice and premiered the song on The Voice).
Next up is Season 4 Idol Winner Carrie Underwood. “Drinking Alone” enters the top 15 this week. This is the fourth single from “Cry Pretty”. Like the top 5, the top 15 is also crowded with reality stars. Scotty McCreery is also in the top 15, so that is a total of 5 (or one out of every three).
Our final two Country milestones comes from Season 10 Idol Lauren Alaina. Her latest single is “Getting Good” and it entered the top 40 this week as has her collaboration with HARDY (“One Beer”). Along with Chase Rice’s “Lonely if You Are”, 8 of the top 40 songs on Country are from people we are tracking. Chris Young and Miranda Lambert are from Nashville Star and they each have a song in the top 40 so it is more like 10 of the top 40.
But Country isn’t the only place seeing milestones this week. We have two songs entering the top 15. Camila Cabello enters the top 15 on HAC with “My Oh My”. Over on AC, we see Harry Styles’s “Adore You” also achieve a top 15.
