Three milestones to ring in the first Monday of a new year.
As we shake off the dust of the never ending party that was 2020, radio winds down the play of Christmas songs and year-end countdowns, so we continue to see songs regain bullets and previous positions.
Hitting a new high this week is “You Time” from Scotty McCreery. “You Time” is the lead-off single for his TBD album and it hit top 40 on Country this week. Scotty signed with Triple Tigers after releasing the debut single for his previous album, so this will be his first with them involved from the start. They did very well managing his singles last time and seem to be following through with the same energy this album.
Harry Styles keeps collecting milestones and this week he adds another top 10. “Watermelon Sugar”, the second radio single from his second album, has now gone top 10 on AC. That means both of his first two singles from his current album have gone top 10 in all three mainstream formats.
Danny Gokey has become a staple on Christian radio and his new single debuts 35th on the CAC chart. “New Day” is the fourth single from his “Haven’t Seen it Yet” album and it starts off the new year strong. His previous single “Love God Love People” returns to the top 9 in the format. Mandisa returns “You Keep Hope Alive” to the top 15 and “Way Maker” to the chart.
