Reportedly, it was Ken Jeong who was upset after The Masked Singer unmasked Rudy Giuliani during a taping last week. Fellow panelist Robin Thicke ran off stage after him out of concern for his friend.

Deadline reported earlier that during a taping of The Masked Singer season 7 premiere last week, former New York Mayor, and Donald Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani was unmasked as one of the contestants. After the unveiling, Ken and Robin walked off the stage, while their fellow judges Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger remained on stage after the reveal, where they chatted with Giuliani.

Robin left the stage concerned about Ken, not because of Giuliani

“Ken was super upset and indeed stormed out,” a source told People magazine.  “Robin actually followed him because he and Ken are very close friends and he wanted to check on him. Robin didn’t storm out because of Giuliani.”

A second source told the outlet that Ken felt “disrespected” by FOX casing Giuliani as a contestant.

“Ken felt disrespected and was livid to see Rudy was under the mask which is why he walked off. There’s no way he could hide his feelings,” the source said.

The insider mentioned that Ken has long expressed his liberal political views. But that’s no bulletin. Ken’s social media is full of political opinions that are very much at odds with Trump, Giuliani and their far-right gang who attempted to reverse the results of the 2020 election.

“Ken has been incredibly vocal about how the previous administration handled many things but especially COVID-19 and has found a lot of what they’ve said not only wrong but dangerous,” says the insider. Ken earned a medical degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and practiced medicine for several years in Los Angeles before breaking big in show business.

“To get someone who helped to spread misinformation and call into question the accuracy of our election and democracy to appear on his show was going to set him off,” said the source.

Robin has never seemed particularly political, so it’s seems reasonable that his motives were strictly about making sure Ken was OK. According to Deadline, both judges eventually returned to their chairs.

The Masked Singer season 7 premieres on FOX Wednesday March 9.
