Congratulations to Dancing with the Stars pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd, who got engaged last night.
The proposal took place on the the dance floor during a performance of “Sway” at the Olympia Theater in Miami, in front of the audience and fellow cast members.
Maksim told Peta, “I’m in love with you, and I will be in love with you for the rest of my life…will you marry me?” and of course, she said yes!
I kind of knew a couple of years ago,” Maksim told Us, immediately following the proposal. “But it’s a process. With this family, the hardest part of the process was to keep it a secret. …this was definitely the best decision I ever made.”
“The thing is, Peta’s been part of the family for so long, it was a natural thing, but it was [also] an overdue thing,” Val Chmerkovskiy, Maksim’s younger brother said. “We were all waiting for it. But I think when it happens it’s fairly surreal and it’s beautiful.”
“I can’t tell you how happy I am,” Peta told Us. “I was completely shocked. I’m just overwhelmed with it all right now.”
