Brynn Cartelli: ‘I don’t want to be Brynn from The Voice forever’ – “I don’t want to be ‘Brynn from The Voice’ forever. I am so glad that was my start,” Cartelli said. “I want to be my own artist and reflect my creativity. … I don’t want to be turned into a pop princess, that’s not who I am.” Her first single, “Walk My Way,” reached No. 2 on the iTunes chart and was lauded by critics as a tune that “could easily become a 2018 song of the summer contender.” “There was a strategy to that,” Cartelli said. “That was a song to bridge the gap between ‘Brynn on the show” and ‘Brynn after the show.’ … We wanted a hit. Arkansan Kris Allen joins ‘Idol’ tour; – The American Idol Live! 2018 Tour recently announced its summer schedule that will feature the top seven finalists and “special guest” Allen, who won in 2009. “It’s happening,” confirms the Jacksonville native who now lives in Nashville, Tenn. And it’s the only time an Idol alum has been part of the tour, he says, adding with a laugh, “It’s just me. Maybe I was option nine, and I’m the only person who said yes.” Allen, 32, says it will be “interesting” spending July through September touring with the finalists whose ages range from 18 to 21: “First of all, I’ve been in their shoes, obviously, and I’ve also been on the road a bunch. … I kind of am hoping to impart some wisdom, but I also am probably going to learn a lot from them myself.” – Read more at Arkansas Online
Q&A with Chris Daughtry before his band’s concert next week in Colorado Springs – Q: It’s been five years since the band’s last album, “Baptized,” and your fans want to know when they’ll be able to hear the new album. A: I’m not at liberty to say the date yet. The good news is there is a date, and it’s not going to be too much longer. I can’t tell you the name of it yet. We’re still kind of finalizing all that. We are beyond excited to get this out to the fans. They’ve waited way too long. It will absolutely be worth the wait. We never expected it to be almost five years between albums, but here we are. Mel B & Heidi Klum Tease the Most ‘Dangerous Season’ of ‘America’s Got Talent’ Yet – Apparently fans should buckle up as, according to the America’s Got Talent judges, season 13 is headed in a much darker direction than the show’s past seasons. “It’s really scary!” Mel B appropriately tells Billboard of the new season, which kicks off Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. “Even though my nickname is Scary Spice, I’m the most afraid scared person of anything even remotely spooky. I’ve never watched horror movies, I won’t go on roller coasters, I’ve never bungee jumped. How JLo’s ‘World of Dance’ is switching up its moves in Season 2 – The judges on NBC’s World of Dance knew they had a hit last summer when they were scorned by angry fans on Twitter. The first big reaction on social media happened when judges Jennifer Lopez (also an executive producer), Grammy-winning singer and dancer Ne-Yo and choreographer and Dancing With the Stars pro Derek Hough voted the popular group Jabbawockeez off the competition series.
