In an attempt to tweak the formula this season (gotta keep it fresh!) ‘American Idol’ producers decided to reveal 7 of the Top 24 on Tuesday night’s Hollywood episode. The show had its moments, but there was way too much going on. By the time the rooms were decided, I wasn’t really up for another hour of reveals. It made for some super-slow TV. I much preferred Wednesday’s fast-paced show, with one reveal coming right after another.
There were a few disappointments: When Ellen DeGeneres recently said in an interview that she wished she’d fought harder for some contestants, I wonder if she meant part-time preacher, Tasha Leighton, who did incredible things with Coldplay’s ‘The Scientist, ‘ or Jermaine Purifory, whose funky ‘Brickhouse’ was made of win.
