More Headlines after the JUMP…
‘American Idol’ Hollywood Week eliminee Jessica Furney wanted ‘to go down swinging.’
Jessica Furney was perhaps the most unforgettable elimination of Tuesday’s episode (Feb. 16) of “American Idol.” She tells Zap2it exclusively about past and present “Idol” experiences on the morning following her dreaded rejection.
“I was disappointed when I left, but I wouldn’t say I was heartbroken, ” says Jessica. “You’ll get a hundred nos before you’ll get one yes. I was raised to fight for what you believe in and to go down swinging, so I wasn’t going to walk away without saying what I thought. It just made me a stronger person and who knows what will come out of it.”
EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: American Idol Reject Has No Regrets About TV Meltdown
“I have no regrets and I feel pretty good about it to be honest with you, ” she told RadarOnline.com. “I felt that I had to speak-up for myself and didn’t just want to walk away without saying anything. I felt the judges were pretty fair to me and Simon has been a lot worse in the past -he didn’t rip into me or anything like that he was totally honest.”
Sobbing ‘Idol’ drama queen quits
Amanda Shechtman, the 19-year-old “American Idol” contestant from Roslyn, NY, says she was “devastated” about being booted from the show after Simon Cowell called her a “drama queen” in front of 30 million people.
“Yeah, that was embarrassing, ” says Shechtman, a drama student at NYU, who was shown sobbing on the phone with her mother last week after getting a tongue-lashing from Simon.
In fact, the young performer says the hard fall has knocked her back into college — she took a leave of absence to do the show — and even caused her to take a break from acting in favor of academic courses.

”Whatever kind of moves you want, I’ll give you, ” Grady told DioGuardi.
Adam Lambert Would Like to See Chace Crawford in the Next Calvin Klein Underwear Campaign
Daily Intel caught up with Adam Lambert at G-Star last night. (Okay, we cornered him as he was trying to evade us and get to his seat.) The Idol alum told us he’s been keeping a low profile while in the city, resting in his hotel room between performances rather than hitting the bars. “I would never!” Lambert said. “I don’t even drink!” He rolled his eyes. “I’m so joking.” The rumor we’d heard, that he and Christian Siriano had met up at a trashy bar, was only partially true. “We met up, but it wasn’t a trashy one; it was a nice one called Juliette, ” Lambert said. “I met up with him and his boyfriend to have cocktails one night, because his boyfriend remixed some songs of mine.”

Nightline’s Daily Line: Where We Fit
I’m just gonna get out of the way of this one.
Producer Steven Baker sat down with “American Idol”-runner-up-turned-superstar Adam Lambert yesterday — as you can see in the picture above.
The interview, which took place at The Upstairs at the Kimberly Hotel here in New York City, is for our “Playlist” series.
As fans of the show know, the series concept involves a discussion with a headlining artist about his or her musical influences. Lambert, of course, will reveal his when the interview airs, expected (for now) in early March.
Bill O’Reilly Hearts Adam Lambert
Bill O’Reilly does a segment at the end of every show, where he picks out who he thinks is a “Pinhead” and who is a “Patriot.” It’s as funny as it seems. But tonight, O’Reilly heaped praise upon the Glambert!
Strange bedfellows, indeed. O’Reilly singled out Lambert for dealing with someone on their cell-phone during one of his shows. O’Reilly was basically like, “Good job, Adam; just don’t try to join the military!” (Actually, seriously: Don’t. We’re not just saying that because you’re gay.)

‘We Are The World’ Remake: Was The Lineup Too Contemporary?
The organizers of the “We Are the World: 25 for Haiti” pulled off a Herculean feat, rallying and recording the track and video for the earthquake-relief effort in record time. Like the sessions for the 1985 original all-star famine relief tune, producer Quincy Jones and songwriter Lionel Richie were able to get a galaxy of contemporary and classic voices to drop what they were doing to lend their time and vocals to a higher cause.
But whereas the original features vocals from such still-classic megastars as Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Kenny Rogers, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and Ray Charles, Jones and Richie said they purposely shuffled the deck on the reboot to focus on contemporary acts. That explains why the track opens with newly minted star Justin Bieber, followed by Jennifer Hudson and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, and quickly segues into solos from Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles, Jamie Foxx, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, Fergie and Nick Jonas, among many others. While there are major, undeniable stars on the new version — Mary J. Blige, Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Pink among them — some are wondering if the song’s lineup was too contemporary?

Murray school made it work when American Idol storm came for Archuleta
MURRAY – Two years after David Archuleta rose from being just another high schooler to a national golden throated heart throb, Murray High still gets requests for him. Some fans call for Murray High posters, while others drive hundreds of miles just to see where David got his start. David was a junior at Murray High when thousands around the world fell in love with him. The school district sought advice from East High in Salt Lake in light of their experience with High School Musical. So Murray decided to start prepping before the Idol ride went into full swing.
In this two-part series, FOX 13’s Arikka Von will find out how a relatively small town and high school plans for millions of television viewers and big time production coverage.
Constantine on Tinsley: ‘We Have a Great Time Together’
There were more than a few curious glances and at least one WTF uttered at Mr. Chow last night when in walked a disheveled Constantine Maroulis, fresh off the stage of Broadway’s Rock of Ages, with his new seeming gal pal Tinsley Mortimer! The odd couple sipped drinks and posed for pictures together, but the former American Idol contestant was coy when we asked him about his apparent budding romance with the socialite. “We’ve been very, very good friends, ” he told us at the party for the new Demi Moore–Parker Posey film, Happy Tears. We weren’t convinced. What about more than friends? “You’ll have to ask her that, ” Maroulis said awkwardly. “We have a good time together and we have a lot in common.”

“Well, I love rock music and Queen’s my favorite rock group, but I can’t sing their music. You know, I sound like crap trying to do their stuff.”

In the clip below, watch as she does her best to eliminate the Southern twang from her performance, while fellow finalists Chris Daughtry and Taylor Hicks do their versions of the group’s late great front man, Freddie Mercury.

Chris Golightly Joins Long List Of DQ’d ‘American Idol’ Contestants
Though it’s probably no consolation, Chris Golightly has plenty of company in the ranks of “American Idol” hopefuls who’ve been disqualified from the show after making it through the grueling Hollywood rounds.
Golightly was cryptically DQ’d from the show on Wednesday — despite appearing in the group shot of the top 24 near the show’s end — after producers determined that he was “ineligible” to continue in the competition. According to reports, the former foster child was unable to clear up a discrepancy about a former contract and was replaced by floppy-haired Tim Urban at the last minute. No mention was made on the show about the disqualification, nor about the rumored elimination of burly personal trainer Michael Lynche, who appeared to make the top 24 despite reports that he would be asked to leave after his dad blabbed to a Florida paper about his son’s Hollywood adventure.
