Ahead of his hometown concert in Chicago tonight, Lee Dewyze announced his support for Feeding America’s Hunger Action Month at a press conference today.  It’s the first Hunger Action Month event for 2010.

Feeding America is the nations largest domestic hunger-relief organization, providing food and groceries to more than 37 million people annually through a network of food  banks and pantries.

The Cheesecake Factory is a Lead Sponsor of Hunger Action Month.

Lee was entertained at the press conference by a special performance by the Children’s Choir of St. James Catholic Church of Arlington Heights, Illinois, the school he attended as a child.  That must have been cool.

About Lee’s participation in this worthwhile cause, Vicki Escarra, president and CEO of Feeding America says, “Our food banks are helping more people than ever before, so Feeding America is thrilled to have Lee DeWyze bring attention to the urgent issue of hunger in our nation.”

  1. It’s always nice to see idols using their fame to promote good causes. One of his fan groups actually raised some money for a couple of charities (Feeding America and the other one escapes me at the moment) in his honor, so that’s awesome.
