  1. This performance isn’t as good as the one that he did on The Today Show, which was an incredible performance. It’s like he doesn’t have any energy here, and was just trying to get through the song.

  2. Actually thought he sounded better than yesterday. I think that Regis and Kelly have a better sound system than the Today show.

  3. I listened to the performance rather than watched it, and the vocal still sounded solid to me.

  4. Regis: “So, Lee, you still go back and visit the paint store?”

Lee: “Well, yeah, but, you know, I’ve been so busy with the album and everything…it’s really all about the fans.”

    Negativo: ROLMFAO!

  5. I don’t think the performances will be the same all the time.
But he sure still sounded good though.
Love the shout-out to the fans :)

  6. I thought he sounded good, and he was dressed better then on the Today show.

  7. He must be reading about the jackets and went for leather this time! Much better!

  8. I actually prefer the R&K sound system, this version sounded better to me.

I also loved the fan shout-out :D In a twitter party before the Leno show he said he would try to mention us and he wasn’t able to. On twitter anyway, he’s definately been feeling the love both yesterday and today so I wouldn’t be surprised if that inspired him to mention us at all costs ;)

  9. He’s a sweety. Loves the fans and so nice about the paint store question from Regis, again. He did great! I am loving the band he has put together too.

  10. Another great performance of SS. Lee and the band sounded great.
In typical Lee fashion, he changed it up from his version on the Today show, especially the ending of the song. I love when he does that as it makes it fun and more interesting for the listener.

  11. The vocals were great, the problem for me is that it is a very fun song, and that came through during The Today performance, but not this one.

  12. I think he sounded great. I like how he changes things up a bit for every performance. He’s always giving the fans a lot of love. Following him on twitter is a lot of fun!

May be Lee is more worried about his album not showing up on iTune than this performance..

Yes to this. But I believe they did fix it. I thought the performance on R & K, was fine. He seemed very bouncy to me, and the band if you watch it again, Jonathan and Chris were really getting into it. I wish RJ (the drummer) who is fantastic by the way, would smile when the camera is on him..talk about looking miserable. I think as time goes on it will just get better and better. Regis was trying to make small talk with the “paint store” comment. Eventually, it will be more about what Lee is doing now, then what he did on Idol….

  15. Seriously, what’s up with itunes? Did RCA forget to pay the electric bill?
Do we Operation “Mad for Plaid”

  16. #26 on Amazon which was #30 early this morning. Aren’t most of the Idols’ releases usually in the Top 5?

  17. As I said in another thread, I wonder if Lee’s lack of crossover appeal to men will affect his sales at all. I honestly don’t know… male pop singers that appeal almost exclusively to women have been successful in the past, so it’s certainly possible he could do very well without the Y chromosome’s assistance.

In fact, the two artists I’d compare Lee to most in style and sound would be Brian Adams and Michael Bolton, and look what they accomplished with an all female clientele. If Lee can similarly tap into that audience he’ll definitely hit it big.

  18. I got home and pulled up the show on dvr and although Lee sounded fine, the background vocals were not good. It seems they eliminated the backing track from this performance.

Ahhhh-HAHAHAHAHA!!! That’s the best laugh I’ve had all day, and after the Beatles tweet I saw this morning, that’s saying something.

    *schnerk* Thanks!

  20. Since he played in the very last couple of minues of the show, I’m guessing he had an allotted period of time to just get in there and get it done. The iTunes problem certainly bothered me so I’m sure it was on his mind, too.

Vocally, it was a very strong performance and the acoustics of the show are a lot better than The Today Show’s.

  21. Man, I thought it was a great performance. After reading here, came home from work and was almost afraid to watch. Loved it. I should know better by now.

  22. To me every time he plays this song-and every other song he’s written as far as that goes- it’s like he settles into it a little differently, which I LOVE. He said it: he never plays a song the same way twice. Makes it Sweet for Us. SS wasn’t my favorite at first but he is reeeeeeling me in, like he always does. Now Brooklyn Bridge was a lovely surprise, didn’t think I’d love it at first listen as much as I do, but his vocal backed by piano and the minor shading just kills me. Earth Stood Still…well that image of falling asleep under the stars, the rain.. “the kind of moment only time could kill”. Damn. Had a day like that once and I forgot about it till I heard this…keep it up, Lee, we love it ALL.

  23. yey, another great, solid performance from lee and the boys! and, another different version of SS for the fans to enjoy. i also loved that the crowd was into it as well. aw, lee is such a sweetie, always acknowledging the fans, he hasn’t changed since his time on AI where he could only communicate with the fans via facebook.
