Lauren Alaina on Coming Back to Nashville and More

Brian Mansfield of Idol Chatter interviewed Lauren Alaina Saturday night before the Idols Live concert in Nashville.

Lauren talks about coming back to the Bridgstone Arena to perform as the Season 10 runner up 1 year after auditioning there.  She almost left without auditioning after the kid who won “Chattanooga Idol” was cut at the tables.  She felt doomed after only coming in 6th in the competition. Luckily, her mom was able to calm Lauren down enough to follow through with her tryout.  It’s a good thing she did!

The album Lauren is working on has a mixture of sweet ballads, with really good stories, and some “really fast songs people can get into and dance to, ” she adds, “That’s my favorite type of song.”

Lauren speaks fondly of her producer, Byron Gallimore, who has randomly given her the nickname “Laurinski” it was either that or “Laurabelle.”  At any rate, the two seem like a good team.  Lauren says they are still recording songs. After, they’ll listen to all of them to decide which ones make the album. She’s very excited about a song she recorded that she co-wrote with Brett James and Luke Laird (The song is called “The Funny Thing About Love).  At this point, she’s not sure it’s going to make the album, but she hopes it does.
