Laine Hardy has a new gig! Fans know that the American Idol season 17 winner loves the small Louisiana town he grew up in. He even wrote a couple of songs about it. Now, the singer from the Bayou is the state’s newest Louisiana Ambassador for tourism.
Laine appeared at the Louisiana Seafood Reception in downtown Baton Rouge Wednesday night (May 5) where he performed and Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser declared him ambassador with a glass plaque.
Additionally, Laine cut a 30 second spot for Louisiana Travel, extolling the virtues of his home state!
“If y’all know me at all,” Laine wrote on Twitter, “You know how much I love my home state. I’m so honored to #partner with @LouisianaTravel as an Ambassador to help spread the word about all this great state has to offer as part of the ‘Louisiana Is A Trip’ campaign!”
