No seashell bikinis for Lady Gaga when she appeared on Good Morning America today to perform her single, “Applause.” Instead, she considered her audience and transformed the number into a Wizard of Oz tribute that even the kiddies could love.
There are the MTV Music Awards costume changes, but here she begins as the innocent Dorothy (singing “Somewhere over the Rainbow”), quick changing into the Good Witch to an apple-bearing Wicked Witch and then back to a Dorothy who is a bit hipper for the experience. Her background dancers fill in as the scarecrow, the cowardly lion, et. al. Even Toto makes an appearance.
Kind of adorable, really.
