Season 2 Idol, Kimberly Caldwell, has finally signed a record deal. The label, Vanguard records, is known for its roster of folk, blues and rock acts like, Patty Larkin, Shawn Mullins, Matt Nathanson, Live, Greg Laswell, Mindy Smith, Carbon Leaf, Levon Helm, Linda Ronstadt and Joan Osborne.
Kimberley was considered the “rock chick” her season on Idol. Signing with Vanguard, it’s a pretty good bet she’ll be producing music that’s more on the rock side than pop.
From the press release:
Vanguard Records announced today that it has signed Kimberly Caldwell to its prestigious artist roster. Kimberly is currently in the studio with producer Marshall Altman (Matt Nathanson, Trevor Hall, Marc Broussard) writing and recording songs for her debut CD expected to be released in early 2010.
