Kelly Clarkson is a trouper! The American Idol OG winner and The Voice coach hosted the three hour Billboard Music Awards Wednesday night (April 1) with appendicitis!
According to Entertainment Tonight, the singer had to have surgery to remove her appendix on Thursday, the morning after the show. On top of hosting, Keely performed two different musical numbers.
Reportedly, Kelly had been suffering from a painful bout of appendicitis all week, flew right home to Los Angeles from Las Vegas immediately after the BBMas and had a procedure the following morning.
Kelly is at home home resting and recuperating and plans to be back to work on The Voice for their live Top 13 show on Monday.
“Not gonna lie…. I may or may not have broken down in tears after the show from pain,” the singer wrote on social media in response to a concerned tweet, “BUT thanks 2 all the amazing people @ Cedars-Sinai I flew home directly after the event, nailed the surgery early this morning, & feeling awesome now!”
