Kelly Clarkson dropped a few hints on twitter earlier today about her upcoming music:
People keep asking. My next album is pop. But I am always influenced by music I love, which is pop-rock/country/r&b/dance #whoknowswhatsnext

Oh and people also keep asking about the duet on the record. Here’s a hint ….this wasn’t our first time to sing together :)

2 clues for the first single ….Proof of life & Dr. Dre #TheNextEpisode
— Kelly Clarkson (@kelly_clarkson) January 3, 2015
Kelly previously hinted at a duet with a “mystery male” and that the song “is so kind of out of the box for both of us, but kind of in our lanes.” At the time, Kelly refused to drop even a clue about this mystery male crooner, but she did say, “It’s an amazing singer, and everyone loves him!”
Male singers she has sung with before include Chris Daughtry, Adam Levine, John Legend, Issac Slade, Eric Hutchinson, Robin Thicke, Robbie Williams, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Vince Gill, Ronnie Dunn, Clay Aiken and Justin Guarini.
The first SINGLE from the album, however, is NOT the duet, she confirmed to a fan in a little q&a that followed her tweets. The single WILL come out in January. Kelly also hinted that she collaborated on the album with singer/songwriter, Sia (Chandelier). No target date for the album yet, but Kelly revealed that she’ll be touring this summer.
“…really can’t wait for y’all to hear the entire album!,” enthused Kelly to a fan, “It’s so great! It’s gonna be a fun record to tour with!”
As far as the single is concerned–fans went right to work with Kelly’s clues, and found a song registered on ASCAP called “Heartbeat Song” written by Audra Mae, Kelly Clarkson, Kara Dioguardi and Jason Evigan. Heartbeat = Proof of life. Get it? Fans are thinking that’s the one.
We’ll know soon enough, kids…
