In a radio interview with The Highway Friday morning, Kelly Clarkson announced that she’ll have a new single out in January! The original flavah American Idol has been under the radar, taking care of her new baby, River Rose, born in June. But now she’s back in action.
Even more exciting? The new record will include a collaboration with a male artist the singer isn’t ready to name yet. “It’s good, it’s so good!” said Kelly about the unnamed artist. “The song is so kind of out of the box for both of us, but kind of in our lanes.”
Kelly refused to drop even a clue about this mystery male crooner, but she did say, “It’s an amazing singer, and everyone loves him!”
Kelly had called in to chat about and promote her first annual benefit concert, Miracle on Broadway, taking place at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Saturday, December 20. The proceeds will be donated to local Nashville charities. Kelly’s celebrity friends were eager to help the community.
“I had this idea randomly, and I thought maybe other people wanted to do it. I got so excited,” said Kelly. “Luckily, everyone started saying yes!” Even artists who couldn’t do it, said Kelly, promised to save a date for next year.
“Everyone mostly said yes,” Kelly enthused, “I kind of feel like I’m way cooler than I thought I was!”
