The Kelly Clarkson Show premiered on Mon (Sept 9) with a mixture of real people and celebrities as guests. The American Idol OG winner and The Voice coach couldn’t have been more excited to premiere her new afternoon talk show.
Dwayne Johnson interrupted his honeymoon to step in for Kevin Hart, who is recovering from a serious car accident. Kelly also surprised a woman who runs a food bank in Oregon. A bunch of her neighbors dropped by to present her with a literal basketful of cash to keep her 40 year old charity going. Also, after the “9 to 5” show opener which featured all types of working women. Kelly interviewed a couple of female first responders, and as it happened, her audience was full of working women, from CEO’s to firefighters.
But, most hilariously, introducing Kelly on her special day? None other than Steve Carell. His movie, The 40 Year Old Virgin featured a scene where he screams out KELLY CLARKSON while enduring a painful (and embarrassing!) body wax. PERFECT.
Kelly shares a story with Dwayne Johnson about running from the repo man.
Kelly visits her neighbors on the Universal Studio lot, including Howie Mandel, Gabrielle Union, Julianne Hough and Terry Crews at America’s Got Talent. She came bearing bundt cake! And a t shirt cannon.
Kelly plays This or That with This is Us cast members Chris Sullivan and Chrissy Metz.
Kelly surprises food pantry founder, Sharon Straus of Sunshine Pantry in Beaverton, Oregon, with an important gift.
Tuesday’s show will feature talk show doyenne Ellen Degeneres and Kelly’s fellow The Voice coach John Legend. Judging by available photos, Ellen comes bearing gifts–a painting! More guests for the week includes Jennifer Garner, Matt Iseman, Jay Leno, Bryce Vine and Chance the Rapper.

And Jimmy ended with Kelly’s American Idol coronation song, “A Moment Like This.” Of course, Kelly had to join in.
