Kelly Clarkson Meets Meryl Streep, Steve Carell Golden Globes (VIDEO)

Kelly Clarkson and Ryan Seacrest

Kelly Clarkson got the title for her new “Minute and a Glass of Wine” web series from the intro to her latest album, Meaning of Life. In the first edition, the American Idol OG singer and The Voice coach gushes about Meryl Streep whom she describes as her “spirit animal.” She confesses that she really really wants to meet her.

And of course, as everybody knows by now, Kelly DID meet Meryl on the red carpet as Ryan Seacrest was interviewing her for E News. The reason why Kelly is obsessed with Meryl? Because they have so much in common! Kelly literally reads the (hilarious) reasons off a page of notes. She makes a Sophie’s Choice reference, which I won’t spoiler here. (EEP!)

Shortly after the Golden Globes ended Sunday night (Jan 7), Kelly was back online talking about that magic moment when she met her spirit animal Meryl.

And holy cow! It took 10 years, but Kelly FINALLY met Steve Carell! Background: The actor starred in the 2005 movie, 40 Year Old Virgin, which features a scene of him getting waxed as part of a makeover by friends. His character screams with every rip, yelling KELLY CLARKSON at the climax of his pain. Over the years, the singer has been asked how she feels about the moment. She always mentions having never met Carell. UNTIL NOW PEOPLE.

Some other peeps starstruck Kelly met at the Golden Globes: Justin Tranter, Nick and Joe Jonas, Seth Meyers, Emilia Clarke, Amy Poehler and Geena Davis. She ends with a shout out to Christian Siriano who designed her lovely dress.

During the Golden Globes telecast, Kelly and Keith Urban presented the award for Best Original Song – Motion Picture.
