Reba is currently on tour with George Strait and it appears that Kelly is tagging along for a few dates–the two  joined forces to sing the night before in Pittsburgh! (Watch a short snip HERE.)

If there’s video, I’ll post it here.

UPDATE:  Kelly and Reba sang 3 songs together:  “Because of You”, “Walk Away” and “Why Haven’t I Heard from You.”

  1. Lol, at first glance I thought Reba was Kathy Griffin. And Kelly just looks like a random audience member. I was like “what does this have to do with American Idol?”

  2. Kelly, I do luvs ya girl and I know it’s your life and you can present yourself anyway you damn well please…but I just don’t understand why it is so important to sell yourself as that small town Texas (I think) girl who doesn’t give a damn about impressing anybody except with her voice.

Why is it that many people think it is making a statement to dress as though your already a grandmother and to keep on piling on the pounds. Just a word of advise from someone who knows: at some point in time you are going to wish you had worked a bit harder to be fit and trim (not skinny) and that you had dressed to impress. I know it’s shallow but there are a lot of peeps in consumer land who want their favs to dress and act the part.

I am not a Kelly Clarkson fan, so my perspective might be different than her hardcore fans. I think she simply got sick and tired of following someone else rules about how she should live her life. I do remember when she lost a lot of weight, dressed like a hot pop star and changed her hair. She might have gotten fed up with having to be perfect and conforming to someone else’s standards. I also think the battle she had with her record company and the blow up with Ryan Tedder has taken a toll on her. I think it affected her psyche and attitude. Truthfully, I do think she could lose a few pounds and update her look. Because in that picture, she’s dressing like someone Reba’s age. But what it comes down, is Kelly happy with herself. If she is, why change it. I nor anyone else is living her life and none of us have the right to try to tell another person what is best for them. Me telling Kelly to change her image a certain way so she can possibly sell more albums, would be hypocritical because I wouldn’t want someone telling Adam to dress less glam and provocative to gain more fans.

I think the next album she has coming is going to be a turning point for her. From what I have read, it’s going to be the most personal one she’s done so far. Over the last few years, I think she’s lost a little bit of her edge and passion. Fighting with your record company, has had to take a toll on her. Maybe this album, will give her a chance to tell her story and then she can move on.

  4. I’ve read that along with Because of You, they also sang Reba’s Why Haven’t I Heard From You and Kelly’s Walk Away.

  5. Kelly needs to lose some weight for her health’s sake if nothing else.

  6. Saw Reba and George last month in Nashville. I was hoping Kelly would make an appearance, since I think she lives part time in Nashville. However, that was the same night as Kelly’s Salt Lake City concert.

BTW, Reba puts on a fantastic show.

  7. I think Kelly’s hair looks great. And, although I agree with the comment about her weight and health, being stressed or losing weight in unhealthy ways is probably worse for her health.

I hope that she is happy and can be herself. I hate when they photoshop her to make he look like a “pop star”. She is a pop star, and that is what she looks like. One of her album covers doesn’t even look like her IMO.

  8. Kelly needs to lose some weight for her health’s sake if nothing else.

Kelly is not at a weight that is unhealthy, in and of itself, and she looks fine to me. So if she’s eating right, and getting some exercise, and that’s her weight? That’s supposed to be her weight. That’s the way I look at it, at least.

Not everyone has a body type that is slim or thin, even if they are eating reasonably well, and doing some excercise. I know women who eat even better than I do, who workout every day when I never do, and weigh more than I do. So it is the way it is, and they’re healthy women, and look damn good to me.

Now that being said, not fond of the top or hair. She could do better. Not that it even has to be all fancy or whatever. But Reba’s outfit is simple as well, as is her hair, and both are more flattering to her.

  9. Anyone would look overweight next to Reba. That woman weighs 14 pounds.

  10. Kelly needs to lose some weight for her health’s sake if nothing else.

That is something you say about a person who is morbidly obsese. Kelly isn’t skinny but she’s hardly putting her health at risk. She looks like the typical woman and it’s refreshing to see. She’s clearly heard the criticism of her weight and she has yet to do anything drastic. That tells me that she’s happy with who she is, which makes her a role model for girls who rarely see that from celebrities.

  11. Kelly needs to lose some weight for her health’s sake if nothing else.

The healthy weight range for her height is probably 112 to 134, and she probably weighs about 140. Like everyone else is saying, her weight isn’t impacting her health at all, and if she had a non-performance profession, no one would think that she was overweight.

But she is a performer, who is on stage and on television occasionally, and she’d look way more attractive if she lost about 20 pounds.

The thing is: Kelly Clarkson is very, very talented, and if she lost the 20 pounds, her weight isn’t what anyone would notice about her.

  12. And I think that Kelly is looking like Linda Ronstadt, before she got morbidly obese.

  13. I think you can be as heavy as makes you happy, but Kelly is not putting forward a very positive self image. It seems like the last few years she can’t even be bothered to put on a bit of makeup when on stage, if she’s not going to take this seriously why should anyone else.

  14. Crystal never wears makeup, and no one could accuse her of not taking the music business seriously.

  15. I love Kelly and I think she looks great. You can tell by her body build that this is the weight she is suppose to be. I love her hair. Kelly has had a tough life gowing up in a broken home, her house burning down and she is who she is because of all of this, she has been through the test of fire and now knows what is truly important. The other day Mj posted a tweet that the AI Promo shoot with Kelly was the best ever, all they did was laugh, they loved her!! That says something right there!

One that I am losing interest in is Carrie Underwood. Carrie once remarked that she never had a hardship or obstacle to overcome and it is starting to show. She is too skinny and needs accolades all the time. She is starting to appear “entitled”, that’s what happens when you are adored and the worst that ever happens is a bad hair day. She says there are 2 Carrie Underwoods, one for the stage and one in every day life. I don’t beleive that. She claims to be a born again Christian and her outfits are getting sluttier. You can’t cross the 2!! You are either a Christian or not and if you are it affects every part of your life.

I am also weirded out about Carrie’s statements about her marriage, it appears as if she perfectly content to never see her husband. Again, if a Christian, marriage comes first!! What was the point of getting married if it was not time to live together, see each other or have babies?? Carrie has never had anything to overcome so she is sort of lost. I was a huge fan of Carrie, but she has changed negatively, while Kelly has overcome so much and is stronger, more confident and getting to know who Kelly truly is!! :-) Kelly is a breath of fresh air!

  16. I think she looks adorable. She is who she is. She doesn’t try too hard to be something she is not. We beat people up who we think appear to be inauthentic. Then when someone is authentic, we still beat them up because they are not who we think they ought to be.

  17. She’s said like a hundred times in interviews that the time when she was sick and completely unhappy was when she was skinny during the Breakaway era, when she had the perfect image of a pop star and became a huge star worldwide. She was working so hard and getting sick and she doesn’t want to go back to that.
She looks fine to me, if she wasn’t a performer nobody would be complaining about her weight. What I don’t like are her outfit choices sometimes.

  18. Why is it always about Kelly’s weight? She looks GREAT to me! She looks like the average American woman. There is nothing wrong with the way she looks. I like her outfit and her hair, she looks cute and down to earth. If that is the weight she is comfortable at and she is healthy so be it. I like that she is more natural and less made up. Why does every pop star have to be a certain size or dress a certain way to be respected? I think Kelly is beautiful just the way she is.

  19. Thanks for the media MJ! The crowd went absolutely insane for Kelly as she made her way up the artists entrance and on stage! HA! And, she hadn’t even sung a note yet :) Everyone remained standing the entire 3 songs!
She is very well loved by Reba & Narvel and all of Reba’s fans. I became a Kelly fan because of Reba. Lots of big time Valory Music and Starstruck Label executives in that Philadelphia audience! Having seen Kelly with Reba on Crossroads, led me to buy her music and see her solo show here in the summer of 09. With very good reason she won AI and continues to do so well.
Very anxious to see what is next for her, but you can bet whatever it is, there will be lots & lots of Reba fans out in the audience to see her on tour, and buy her music. That’s what its all about for us country music fans, the voice! ;)

  20. It’s so much fun seeing Kels and Reba perform together. The chemistry is great!

  21. It’s really refreshing to see someone who’s not obsessed with how she looks. Music isn’t about what you wear or how you weight but about talent and artistry. She is just so real and I like that she doesn’t give squat about fame and hollywood and all that crap.

  22. I think that Kelly looks fine and her weight is hardly excessive enough to be regarded as a health risk. She is still an amazingly talented vocalist and one of the best artists around in investing her singing with genuine emotion.

I think you can be as heavy as makes you happy, but Kelly is not putting forward a very positive self image. It seems like the last few years she can’t even be bothered to put on a bit of makeup when on stage, if she’s not going to take this seriously why should anyone else.

I think that Kelly is putting forward a positive self image just by being happy with herself as she is without conforming to so-called standards of Hollywood and some of the public.

  23. Why is it that EVERY time I read or hear news of Kelly, all I read are comments about her weight? Seriously, I am 5’6″ and weigh 180. Yet I work out with a trainer and am very healthy. My blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar numbers are all perfect and my doctor says I am in great health. Yes, I carry some extra weight, more so than is considered ideal for my height and look a bit heavy in the mid section, but so what! And yes, I am not a celebrity. If I were, I’d probably feel the need to starve myself and work out every free second of time like the previously mentioned Carrie Underwood. How would that be healthy?! My point is, Kelly is not getting sick and has the stamina for her career, so clearly her health doesn’t seem to be an issue. Why does everyone assume thin means healthy. More often than not, it means very sick. Everyone has different body types. I agree with the above poster about country fans. Pop fans expect skeletons out of their stars. Country fans are perfectly content with all body types. Trisha Yearwood and many other country stars are very heavy set and it hasn’t affected their careers or fanbase one bit. Maybe Kelly should go into country music. At least people would respect her for her talent there. If Kelly is fat, then I am a ginormous cow!

I just wanna add that I saw Carrie Underwood in concert this year as I am a fan of her music, but she even mentioned that her life has been essentially perfect the past 6 years. Who can relate to that?! Talented yes….relatable, not so much anymore. And yes, also her comments about seeming to be perfectly content living away from her husband and being married is no different than dating creeped me out a bit.

  24. Futhermore, why was it okay for Jen Hudson to be fat? Yes, she’s since lost weight, but no one seems to care if black women are fat. Look at Aretha Franklin!
