At Monday night’s 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards, Kelly Clarkson presented the Icon Award to P!nk whom she called a “once-in-a-lifetime talent” while praising the singer’s “authenticity and vulnerability and willingness to let us in as fans.” Later, Kelly teamed up with P!nk for a powerful duet. Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo also took the stage to pay tribute to P!NK by covering one of her hits.
First, Benatar took the stage to sing “Just Like a Pill” while P!nk rocked out in the audience. Next, the American Idol OG winner took the stage, starting off her performance of “Just Give Me a Reason,” before a string quartet kicked in. With microphone in hand, P!nk turned the song into a duet, before making her way to the stage to join Kelly.
After Kelly exited the stage as P!nk launched into a dramatic rendition of “What About Us.”
The event, which aired live on FOX from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, featured a mixture of performance-based and socially-driven categories.
Winners included fan-favorite reality show alums. including American Idol season 14 finalist, Jax who won Best New Pop Artist, The Voice season 6 alum Morgan Wallen who won Country Artist of the Year and Harry Styles who nabbed Artist of the Year. Check out a FULL list of winners HERE.
Aside from accepting her award, Jax joined other first-time nominees in their respective genres Cody Johnson, Muni Long, and Giovannie and the Hired Guns for a back-to-back-to-back Best New Artist Medley.
