Kelly Clarkson dons Vampire Costume for Olivia Rodrigo Kellyoke Cover
Kelly Clarkson dressed as a vampire to celebrate the Halloween holiday on her eponymous daytime talk show on Tuesday (Oct 31) and picked an on-the-nose song to perform as her Kellyoke cover–“Vampire” by Olivia Rodrigo.
Considering that her latest record, chemistry, is considered the American Idol OG winner’s “divorce” album, “Vampire” would have fit perfectly on to the new set.
‘Cause I’ve made some real big mistakes/ But you make the worst one look fine I should’ve known it was strange/ You only come out at night/ I used to think I was smart/ But you made me look so naive/ The way you sold me for parts/ As you sunk your teeth into me, oh/ Bloodsucker, dream crusher/ Bleedin’ me dry, like a damn vampire,” the song lyrics go.
Released as the lead single off of Rodrigo’s sophomore album, GUTS, “Vampire” debuted and peaked at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart. The track has spent a total of 17 weeks on the chart and is currently at No. 11 on the Nov. 4-dated tally.
