Kelly Clarkson will debut her cover of “American Woman” at the CMT Music Awards tonight (June 6) at 8PM ET/PT. Until then, check out the official music video here.

The American Idol OG winner and The Voice coach adds a soulful twist to The Guess Who’s 1969 classic. Kelly’s version will be the theme song for the Paramount Network’s upcoming TV series American Woman.

The new series is loosely inspired by the upbringing of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards. Doesn’t that sound exciting? Hm. Unfortunately, Kelly is nowhere to be seen in the video. The clip is made up of scenes from the upcoming series. It’ obviously retro with the copious amounts of alcohol and cigarettes consumed.

According to The Wrap where the video premiered, the show stars Alicia Silverstone as an unconventional mother struggling to raise her two daughters after leaving her husband. Accompanied by her best friends, played by Mena Suvari and Jennifer Bartels, she strikes out on her own in 1970s Los Angeles.
