Watch Jimmy Fallon and Kelly Clarkson sing the 1960s classic “I Got You Babe” by Sonny & Cher on The Voice coach’s afternoon talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. Kelly switches up the phrasing beautifully, while Jimmy does his best Sonny Bono impression.

It’s fitting because the Tonight Show host is the executive producer of the E! Entertainment tribute band competition, Clash of the Cover Bands. The judges panel features American Idol alum and Queen frontman Adam Lambert, Meghan Trainor and Ester Dean. SYTYCD alum tWitch hosts. (Check out our latest recap HERE featuring a Cher impersonator!)

After the performance, Jimmy shares a story about singing “I Got You Babe” with Cher on the Tonight Show. He wanted her to slap him like in the iconic scene from her 80’s hit movie Moonstruck. But she said she liked him too much to hit him. Maybe she would slap him then kiss him.

Before the two hit the stage, Jimmy asked whether she’d hit or kiss him, and she answered, “I’m going to do whatever I want. I’m Cher!” That’s why she’s legendary! Kelly admitted that she loved  when people are bold, but “it makes me sweat!”

It turned out that Cher kissed Jimmy. “I’ve never washed my face!” Jimmy joked.
