American Idol season 5 alum Kellie Pickler has a new gig. The country music singer and actress is joining the daily on-air lineup at SiriusXM’s Country The Highway channel.
The Dancing with the Stars season 16 winner will host weekdays from 12-4 pm ET starting on Monday, February 14.
“I am so excited to join the SiriusXM family as a host on The Highway,” Kellie shared in a press statement. “This is such a fun and amazing opportunity to really connect with Country music fans across North America. I’m looking forward to sharing some of my current favorite songs and artists, along with chatting with some very special guests!”
Last year, the USO announced Kellie as one of the organization’s Global Ambassadors, supporting the their Give More Than Thanks initiative. It’s a campaign encouraging all Americans to find actionable ways to express their gratitude for the service and sacrifice of our troops and their families.
After placing 6th on American Idol in 2006, Kellie released her debut album Small Town Girl, which the RIAA certified Gold. Her 2008 self-titled album produced a single, a Taylor Swift co-write, “Best Days of Your Life” which earned Platinum status. As an actress, she starred in three Hallmark movies: Christmas at Graceland (2018), Wedding at Graceland (2019) and The Mistletoe Secret (2019). Additionally, Kellie earned five Emmy Nominations for the syndicated talk show Pickler & Ben, which aired for two seasons, 2017-2019. The former cheerleader won Dancing with the Stars in 2013 along with pro-partner, Derek Hough.
