  1. This is one FINE album. Love her vocal on this record, the style of music is much suitable for her. I love It’s Not Right, Had It All, Terrified, Say Goodbye, Lifetime, and Brand New Key (if I HAVE to pick)
Can’t wait for the release date! It’s been a long while..

  2. Poor Kat. Not one comment here! Maybe I’ll even listen to her album now that I’ve taken the time to pop into her thread. :-)

  3. Thanks MJ

Favorites are Lifetime, Say Good Bye, It’s Not Right, How, Faultline, Terrified, and Kat cute version of Brand New Key. Know there will be more favorites! It is an “adult oriented” type music. So far it is GREAT CD!!

  4. I love the CD! She really has grown as an artist and a song writer. My fav is Keep Drivin! IMO simply the best thing she has ever done. There is not one song I don’t like a lot and some I simply love. How, It’s Not Right, Unbroken, Terrified and Anybody’s Heart really stand out to me. She really shows some of the softer, more subtle sides to her voice. No autotuners, samples or gimmicks needed on this record. Can’t wait to buy it next week!

  5. This is miles better then the first album. She’s really grown and found what kind of music she should be doing. I just hope it isn’t too late because there are really some great songs on this album.

  6. I listened to a few of the songs. It’s far better than I thought it would be. The songs are good and she sounds very good. She is very restrained, and doesn’t do much of those annoying runs (such as on the word “unusually” at the beginning of I’ll be Home for Christmas–can’t stand that–it’s like she’s falling off the sheetmusic–but there isn’t a lot of that, which is good).

I thought Had it All is sort of country. I wonder what shelf the CD will be on? Pop? It isn’t really.

  7. I thought Had it All is sort of country.

I’ve heard a few people say this and I don’t understand where it’s coming from at all. Had It All is typical R&B tinged pop. There’s nothing country about it unless we’re at the point where anything with a melody that isn’t beat driven is considered country. I know Taylor Swift and Danny Gokey are trying to convince us that country isn’t what it used to be but I still think the word means something and I’m not even a purist.

Katharine’s voice isn’t country – the way she sings is clearly influenced by jazz and some light R&B. There’s no twang, no cry, no yodel in her singing. The tune isn’t country either. It doesn’t have any of the markings that would identify a country song. It doesn’t have any mandolin or banjo or fiddle. The imagery and the lyrical style isn’t storytelling oriented which is what distinguishes a lot of country songs.

To her credit she’s not pretending to be country either.

I’m listening to Kat’s album right now and it sounds like a good little adult pop record. Miles and miles better than her 1st one. I’m really excited to hear Brand New Key.

  8. love love love the new album! she seems to have finally figured her self out as an artist.

  9. great album. favorites are unbroken, brank new key, keep drivin’ and surrender so far. the lyrics on this cd are GREAT. i’m impressed

  10. I read on-line (sorry not sure where) that Lindsay Lohan was this generation’s Marilyn Monroe. bleh…NOT (no class what.. so.. ever)

But Kat could play Marilyn in a sec. She is so gorgeous and super classy!
