Justin Guarini Lands Role in Broadway’s ‘Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown’

Congratulations to Justin Guarini!

The season 1 runner-up just landed the role of Carlos in the upcoming  Broadway musical production of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.

Justin will play the son of of Ivan (Brian Stokes Mitchell) and Lucia (the legendary Patti LuPone).  Justin’s was the final principal role to be cast in this highly anticipated production, based on the 1988 movie of the same name by acclaimed Spanish film director, Pedro Almodovar.

Justin’s Broadway debut finds him originating a brand new role for Broadway, which means he will be eligible for a Tony Award next year.

Previously, Justin appeared in a workshop version of the Beach Boys musical Good Vibrations.

Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown is directed by Bartlett Sher with a book by Jeffrey Lane and music and lyrics by David Yazbek.  It is to begin previews at the Belasco Theater on Oct. 2 and open on Nov. 4.
