American Idol alum Jax joins The Voice’s Cassadee Pope on a new version of “People That I Love Leave”
The Voice and American Idol join forces.
The Voice season 3 winner Cassadee Pope shares a new version of her latest single, “People That I Love Leave” featuring Tik Tok star and American Idol season 14 2nd runner-up Jax. Combined with Cassadee, Jax brings a new angle to the already high-energy track about being afraid of fully letting love in after having been through so much heartbreak.
“I’ve been a fan of Jax’s music for a while now. I love everything she stands for,” shares Cassadee. “Her empowering message, bravery, authenticity, and incredible voice is what made me want her featured on this song. I’m so honored she said ‘yes’ and I think she has elevated this song incredibly.”
Originally released in April, “People That I Love Leave” was co-written by Cassadee, Ali Tamposi (Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Kelly Clarkson), Roman Campolo (Elton John, BTS), Nick Long (Machine Gun Kelly, Avril Lavigne) and Andrew Luce (Iann Dior, Role Model) and produced by Cassadee, Dan Swank, Mason Sacks, Hosu Yoon and Luce.

“Hope you love it as much as we do,” Cassadee writes on Instagram. In comments Jax writes, “You can take the girls out of the warped tour…” adding “The fact that we both secretly dressed up for each other as how we’d imagined our first session going.”
In another Instagram post, Cassadee writes, “Jax featured on my song because we are emo twin flames.” And then The Voice contestant NOIVAS jumps into comments to say, “WAIT! This is crazy @cassadeepope. Cause @jax was on American Idol with me lol it’s a freaking small world.” Indeed, back when he was known by his real name Savion Wright, the singer appeared on a couple of season of American Idol. He didn’t make it to the live shows on either season, however.
For her part, Jax is promoting her latest single “Cinderella Snapped” on the heels of her first big hit, “Victoria’s Secret.”
