Just days in advance of his debut EP pre-order, country singer and The Voice season 17 winner Jake Hoot has announced the lead-off single from his forthcoming EP will feature his The Voice coach Kelly Clarkson. The  duet entitled “I Would’ve Loved You” features Jake and Kelly’s distinct vocals throughout the emotional ballad. The entire Love Out Of Time EP is available for pre-order on January 14th with the official release set for January 27th.

Written by Jake, Dean Sams (Lonestar) and Jamie Floyd, the singer knew his mentor Kelly would be the perfect duo partner as soon as he wrote “I Would’ve Loved You.”

Jake explains: “I Would’ve Loved You is a song about how the choices we make and the consequences that follow. It is a story about someone who has so much love to give, but due to the other person’s decisions, that love turns into a hate that lasts forever. I am so honored to have written this song with Jamie Floyd and Dean Sams, who are both incredible writers. I am beyond thankful to Kelly Clarkson for believing in me and recording this song with me! Can’t wait for y’all to hear it!“

Additionally, Kelly and Jake filmed a music video for the track that will be released in early February.

Produced by hit songwriter/producer Danny Myrick (Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, Maddie & Tae), Jake’s debut project features four original songs as well as his recently released cover of “La Bamba.” The singer collaborated with an all-star lineup of musicians and songwriters for Love Out Of Time including Dean Sams (Lonestar), Myrick, Jenne Fleenor (CMA Award-winning musician), Dave Pahanish (Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith), Jamie Floyd (Ingrid Andress, Lucie Silvas, Ashley Monroe) and more.

Following his win on NBC’s The Voice, Jake has released several tracks including charitable song “Tennessee Strong,” which reached Top 10 in the iTunes Country Singles chart, Top 35 on the iTunes All-Genre Chart, and benefitted the survivors of the deadly Middle TN tornadoes. He also released debut single “Dangerous Thing,” special Father’s Day song, “The Best Job I Ever Had” and heartwarming love song, “Nadine.”

Drawing inspiration from his childhood in the Dominican Republic, Hoot released a cover of “La Bamba” from his forthcoming EP on November 6th, which landed in the Top 10 on the iTunes Latin charts. Fellow Season 17 The Voice contestant Ricky Duran is featured as the lead guitarist on “La Bamba” along with 8 other contestants who lent their vocals on the track from Hoot’s winning season.

Jake announced the release of Love Out of Time late last year, teasing a “superstar duet” to be announced at a later date. Besides Kelly revealing she and Jake recorded something together, fans’ bet on Kelly as the super-sekrit duet party. I mean, who else would it be?
