Carrie Underwood continues her successful tour through California, Colorado and Nevada. Oakland is a rare non-sell-out. She has the Swon Brothers from the Voice as one of her opening acts. From The Amazing Race, Canaan Smith is opening for Brantley Gilbert in Hershey. Finally, we have Kat McPhee performing in Florida.
Proof that reality singing competitions can have big successes and change lives? One Direction. The Sunday Times released their annual list of richest British musical artists and while they didn’t make the main list, they took up 5 of the 10 spots on the under 30 list. Harry, Niall, Liam and Louis are in a four way tie with each other for third with 33 million pounds each. Zayn is right behind them with 30 million pounds. Sure, Simon got the lion’s share, but these kids never have to work again if they invest their money correctly and don’t end up with Justin Bieber’s dad in their entourage. They’ve unquestionably worked hard enough for the last 5 years to deserve a few months off at least (hard to imagine they were 16 years old and auditioning about this time 6 years ago).
