Idol Sales News – Week Ending 02/12/12

Now with numbers. Adele tops the chart for her 21st week and is the first to cross 2M in digital sales (it was just last summer that Eminem became the 1st to sell 1M digital albums). Scotty’s TTWG officially went GOLD last week.

But, there are lots of numbers for Whitney. Six of her albums re-enter the BB200 with a total of 101K in sale (up 5,994% from 2K the week before) – more than she sold in all 2011 and 2012 combined up until her death (97K). 91K of those albums were sold digitally since stock would have been low in the stores.

6 “Whitney: The Greatest Hits” 64K (+10,419%; lw 1K)
72 “Whitney Houston” 8K (+3,901%)
80 “The Bodyguard” 8K (+5,213%)
118 “I Look To You” 5K (+3,901%)

183 “The Preacher’s Wife” 4K (+3,913%)

As for singles, she moved 887K of those (up 5,730% from the 15K she sold the previous week). She put a total of 8 songs on the 75 slot Digital Songs chart.
