ADDITIONAL PERFORMERS ANNOUNCED FOR THE 2014 CMA AWARDS NOV. 5 ON ABC – NASHVILLE – The star-studded lineup for Country Music’s Biggest Night™ continues to grow with today’s announcement of additional performers for “The 48th Annual CMA Awards.” Not only are they hosting for the seventh consecutive year, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will each perform during the three-hour live broadcast Wednesday, Nov. 5 (8:00 PM/ET) on the ABC Television Network from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Strike up the bands, because joining the superstar lineup are three of the hottest groups in County Music – Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, and The Band Perry. Phillip Phillips to join The Script on South African tour – Cape Town – Big Concerts has just announced that Phillip Phillips will be joining The Script on their South African tour dates in February 2015 in support of their new album No Sound Without Silence. They will be performing live in Cape Town on 4 February at Grand Arena, GrandWest, Durban on 6 February at ICC Durban Arena and in Johannesburg on 7 February at Crocodile Creek. Blake Shelton brings back the country ‘Sunshine’ – NASHVILLE — Blake Shelton, as the late singer Dottie West might have said, was raised on country sunshine. And with his new album, Bringing Back the Sunshine, out Tuesday, the Oklahoma native feels as if he’s getting back to his raising. “When life goes so fast, if you just pause for a minute and look back, you go, ‘Man, I got very far away from what I used to sound like,’ ” says the singer and The Voice mentor, who initially hit the country charts around the start of the new millennium with story songs such as Austin, Ol’ Red and The Baby. “You should do whatever you need to do as an artist to push yourself. Columbia/Epic Records still owes Kat $700K according to court docs … and she concedes it’s community property — meaning Nick gets half. As we’ve reported … the divorce is bitter … Nick’s accusing Katharine of banging “Smash” director Michael Morris and then lying about it. It really doesn’t legally matter, but he’s pissed. Clay Aiken Takes Lessons From ‘American Idol’ to the Campaign Trail – You seem to want to avoid the “Idol” history, but it’s what brought you here. If I had not been on “Idol,” chances are I wouldn’t be able to run in this race, and I understand that. But I got probably 70 percent of my votes on the show from North Carolina. So these folks who I’m trying to represent put me here. If you knew that you could win by making one ad that was just a song, would you do it? If it was a sure thing, yeah, I would do that. What song would you choose? You’re talking about hypotheticals that are clearly not going to happen. Well, I would hope that the same poll that said singing would make me win would have the foresight to actually ask which song as well. Do you think Obama has been a good president? I think every president is on a sliding scale somewhere. There are certainly areas where I disagree with him. Do you want him to come campaign for you? I don’t need that. ‘Glee’ Elves — Decked the Mall Shopper’s Ass … Allegedly – A “Glee” Christmas episode failed to deliver any joy for a woman who claims she got screwed by the crew … laying cable all over a mall. Yolanda Rosario says she was at the Burbank Town Center mall last Nov., where a 20th Century Fox crew was setting up to film a scene … which apparently required stretching electrical cables over a walkway open to civilian mall goers. In a lawsuit, Rosario says she tripped over some of the cables and fell … breaking and arm and a rib. She’s suing Fox and the company that owns the mall … for unspecified damages and medical bills. – Read more at TMZ
