Clay Aiken Bests Renee Ellmers in Second Quarter Fundraising (Updated) – “American Idol” runner-up Clay Aiken announced raising $450,000 from April through June for his bid in North Carolina’s 2nd District — more than his Republican opponent, GOP Rep. Renee Ellmers. The Democrat, who faces an uphill climb to defeat Ellmers and has not yet reported his second-quarter fundraising to the Federal Election Commission, did not release his cash-on-hand total as of June 30. But that haul is a sharp increase from what he raised in the first three months of the year. Aiken had just $74,000 in cash on hand as of April 16, a few weeks before the state’s May 6 primary. – Read more at Roll Call

Josh Kaufman and The Voice Tour in Phoenix – Q:How would you like to see the rest of your career unfold? A: Of course, a part of winning the show is getting the record deal, so once this is all over, I think we’ll get to work pretty quickly. I think they want to get a single out first and see how that does and then move along from there. I’m really looking forward to that — getting into the studio, working on new music, and just seeing where it all goes. – Read more at AZ Central

Fatboy Slim on DJ talent show: ‘We told Simon Cowell to f**k off’ – Fatboy Slim has revealed that a number of high-profile DJs were approached by Simon Cowell for his new talent show. The X Factor mastermind has recently been developing the reality show Ultimate DJ to find the next superstar DJ, but Fatboy Slim – real name Norman Cook – argued that the format wouldn’t translate well to television. “Simon Cowell was talking about doing a show and everyone in the business, he kind of started approaching us, and we were like, ‘F**k off. No – that’s a terrible idea!'” Cook told Digital Spy at Electrobeach Festival in France over the weekend. “That’s the good thing about dance music; it grows organically through drunk people late at night coming up with stupid ideas. It’s not something that can be scripted or transported into a TV studio.” – Read more at Digital Spy

Did Juan Pablo & Nikki Ferrell BREAK UP? – Juan Pablo — the “Bachelor” people love to hate — apparently has cut ties with Nikki Ferrell … so claims the woman who says he was all over her this past weekend in Atlantic City. J.P. was at Pool After Dark in Harrah’s for Pauly D’s DJ set, celebrating a mutual friend’s birthday. Ang Cottone — who you may recognize as MILF Mom who fought with Tan Mom on Howard Stern’s show — was inside the club when we’re told Juan P. recognized her, invited her into the DJ booth and got all nuzzly. Ang told people in the club JP was “incredibly flirtatious” and asked for her number. Here’s the twist. Juan Pablo — who did NOT get engaged to Nikki on the show — is currently filming Season 5 of “Couples Therapy.” It seems like the whole “couples” thing is a better show than “The Bachelor.” – Read more at TMZ.com

‘Bachelorette’ Andi Dorfman and the rejects weigh in on final 2 Nick Viall and Josh Murray – Marquel Martin: “I will defend Nick ’til the day I die. He’s one of the best people I will ever have the chance to meet. It’s weird because I really felt that, and this is just a personal opinion, I feel that as a man, if you’re going after someone you could potentially feel yourself marrying, why would you feel that you are second to anyone? You can’t tell me that my connection with Andi isn’t as strong as anyone else’s and I’m not saying that to be arrogant, but I’m saying that because I was confident in who I am and I’m always going to be that way until proven otherwise. You’re proven otherwise when you don’t receive a rose. – Read more at Zap2it.com
