Anka gets credit for co-writing Jackson single

LOS ANGELES ‘” With a familiar high-pitched voice counting off one-two-three-four, a new Michael Jackson single debuted online Monday, prompting a hasty response from the singer’s estate after Paul Anka revealed he was the song’s co-writer.

“This Is It” is featured on the soundtrack to the upcoming documentary featuring the late superstar, but its genesis was actually in 1983 when it was written for a duets album Anka was recording.

The song was titled “I Never Heard, ” and Jackson and Anka are credited as co-authors on an early 1990s version recorded by the singer Sa-Fire.

Anka said Jackson’s estate moved quickly to give him credit, promising Anka 50 percent of the song’s profits.

“They did the right thing, ” Anka said. “I don’t think that anybody tried to do the wrong thing. It was an honest mistake.”

Adam Lambert’s Time for Miracles: First Reactions

There has been a deafening buzz surrounding Adam Lambert’s “Time for Miracles” ever since Queen guitarist Brian May wrote a gushing blog post about it over the summer. Impatient “Idol”-heads (myself included) began to theorize that the song ‘” recorded for the upcoming disaster epic “2012” ‘” must be the most amazing track ever committed to tape, considering it turned an elderly rock legend into a squeeing fangirl. (Welcome to the dark side, Brian May, but until you’ve drunk-tweeted one or several “Idol” contestants, you are no match for my “Idol” obsession.)

Paul Anka Claims ‘This Is It’ is a Rip-Off

If you think Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” sounds familiar, it’s because the song is a rip-off that was released nearly two decades ago by another artist … and the man making this claim is none other than music legend Paul Anka.

Kris Allen’s Album Cover Appears Online

Late Monday night, a group of hawkeyed Kris Allen fans noticed that the Barnes & Noble Web site posted a link to album artwork that shows the “American Idol” winner sitting in a theater looking longingly back at the empty seats behind him. A rep for 19 Entertainment confirmed to MTV News that the image is, in fact, the official cover for Kris’ major-label debut. And that cover seems to confirm that Allen’s album is self-titled after all.

Fans immediately picked up that the green-hued cover has a retro-pulp quality, with Kris Allen’s giant name showing some creases and weathering. In the photo, Allen has ditched the college-dude-down-the-hall plaid uniform, opting instead for a more mature, old-school matinee idol look: leather jacket, tank top and necklaces. In typical Kris fashion, his wedding band is prominently featured on the cover, a move that flies in the face of Simon Cowell, who famously told the singer to downplay his marriage on “Idol.”

Should Kris Allen Record A JC Chasez Song?

“American Idol” winner Kris Allen is nearing the completion of his top-secret major label debut (which still doesn’t have a title), but a new demo popped up over the weekend that might shed some light on the kind of material he has vetted.

JC Chasez (of ‘NSYNC and “Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew” fame) wrote and recorded a song called “Build Some Love” for consideration for Allen’s debut CD. The tune, which was posted on a JC Chasez fan site yesterday, is a tender ballad that would fit very nicely on a OneRepublic setlist. The gist is that JC (or Kris Allen, I suppose) is in love with an emotionally reserved girl, but his loving is so magical, he’s able to tear down her wall and “build some love.” Epic, right? Daughtry remains most-played Idol; several singles fall off charts

Daughtry’s No Surprise remained the most-played American Idol track last week, according to Mediabase, but Kelly Clarkson’s Already Gone and Carrie Underwood’s Cowboy Casanova continued to gain airplay. Cowboy Casanova ranks #6 on the Country chart, while No Surprise is at #3 at Hot AC.

Meanwhile, several Idol tunes fall off their respective charts this week. Elliott Yamin’s Can’t Keep on Loving You, Brooke White’s Radio Radio and Katharine McPhee’s Had It All all end their runs in AC’s top 40. No Surprise goes to recurrent status at Top 40, and David Cook’s Come Back to Me falls of the Hot AC chart, though it remains on the AC chart at #14.

Edge Elementary draws a crowd for Macho Monday lunch

NICEVILLE ‘” The lunch crowd was a little taller Monday at Edge Elementary School.

The taller folk were 301 parents and 89 Air Force men who came in to eat lunch with students during the school’s annual ‘Macho Monday.’

Just before 10:30 a.m., cars were already overflowing into a neighboring parking lot as men strode into the elementary school. Some wore uniforms, others carried bags of food, but they all wore smiles as they prepared to eat lunch with the children.

Another surprise visitor at the event was former American Idol Phil Stacey, who stopped at the school on the first day of a family vacation in the area. Picking up his guitar, Stacey sang two songs for a delighted crowd.

Dannii Minogue apologises for X Factor bisexual joke

by Jamie McKay. Published Mon 12 Oct 2009 18:50

X Factor judge Dannii Minogue has been left red-faced after a joke she made to contestant Danyl Johnson caused a public backlash.

Angry viewers have inundated media watchdog Ofcom with complaints after the veteran Aussie pop star made comments about the 27-year-old teacher following his rendition of Jennifer Hudson’s ‘And I’m Telling You’ on the hit ITV show last Saturday.

During the performance Johnson changed the lyrics as if he was singing to a woman, which prompted Minogue, 38, to say: “If we’re to believe what we read in the papers, there was no need to switch the gender reference in that song.”

Fellow judge Simon Cowell asked her to repeat what she had said whilst a stunned audience looked on.

Minogue was referring to an interview given by Danyl earlier that week in which he revealed that he was bisexual.

Did Simon Cowell ban lilies because they are toxic to cats?

I heard last week that Simon Cowell had banned lilies from his 50th birthday party celebrations. It was said that this was because he didn’t like the smell, but perhaps there’s another reason: could he be a secret cat-lover?

Many people do not realise this, but the beautiful, sweet-smelling Lily contains compounds that are highly poisonous to cats. Easter, Japanese, Stargazer and Tiger lilies can all cause fatal kidney failure in cats. All parts of these lilies are toxic, including the leaves, stems, flowers and pollen. The precise identify of the poisonous chemical is not yet known, but cats are uniquely sensitive, due to some quirk of their metabolism. If even tiny amounts are eaten e.g. following grooming to remove the dust-like pollen that can land on their coats, cats can die from kidney failure. Rats and rabbits, in contrast, have been known to munch lilies without adverse effects. Dogs don’t seem to be as liable to the toxicity as cats, but there’s still a risk.

I’m told Hough, who began rehearsals this weekend, will play a fellow dancer.

Cheryl Burke Urged Tom DeLay to Quit Dancing

Cheryl Burke may not have been thrilled about having to leave Dancing With the Stars so early, but she realizes it was the only step Tom DeLay could have made.

“He talked to me a few days before, ” the Dancing pro said last night at Hollywood Life’s Hollywood Style Awards, where she was given the Choreographer Award by her former partner Gilles Marini.

“It was during rehearsal when he could only rehearse 30 minutes a day, ” she said. “I could see it was getting worse. I offered it to him. I said, ‘Tom, you don’t have to continue, honestly. I don’t think it’d be good for you.”

DeLay, as DWTS fans know, announced his departure from season nine after last week’s performance show because he was suffering from fractures in both feet.

‘Dancing With The Stars’ Is ‘Way Harder’ Than Kelly Osbourne Imagined

Kelly Osbourne has always been known for her sassy attitude and punk-rock spirit, but it seems that those skills aren’t making her time on “Dancing With the Stars” any easier. The 24-year-old admits that competing on the show hasn’t been a day in the park.

“It is way harder than I thought it’d be, ” Osbourne, who is partnered with professional dancer Louis van Amstel, told MTV News on the red carpet at the Hollywood Style Awards. “I thought with each week it would get easier, but it doesn’t, because each week you’re learning a new dance with new steps.”

Tom DeLay may be a wild thing on the dance floor, but when it comes to boosting ratings, he seems to have two left feet.

The controversial former Republican congressman was supposed to spice up this season of “Dancing With the Stars, ” but it hasn’t worked out that way. In fact, the dance-competition show, a bulwark of ABC’s schedule for more than four years, is shambling through its worst season since it first premiered in the summer of 2005.

  3. I’m laughing my ass off right now about the Jackson song fiasco. This is what happens when peeps are in such a hurry to make some bucks off of a legacy….they leap way to fast and, of course, they get burned. It also says that Michael wasn’t always above board in his dealings since he didn’t return all the unused tracts to Paul as requested.

So, the scenerio is that they found these recorded tracts with no information (song writer, etc) and the estate just “assumed” that Michael had rights to these songs. Geesh, how stupid, especially considering that Michael wasn’t known as a writer. Good for Anka…I hope he makes lots of money on this.

Adam is as excited as we are! :)

ETA: I have on Ryan’s show on KISS 108FM in Boston. Will keep you posted as I hear something.

ETA 2: I got Kris’s single from iTunes yesterday, as part of the pass.

  8. This can go back to the KA album cover convo if it needs to, but this whole idea that Kris is looking back at the empty seats is something I didn’t get. I see the light shining on his face as a sign he’s looking back at the OPEN DOOR in the back, not the seats. Waiting for someone? Katy, perhaps? That was my interpretation.

  9. Mia Michaels appears on the show, both for her memorable dances and her friendly outspokenness as a guest judge.

Well that’s mostly a true statement, she has created memorable dances, and she is outspoken, but friendly in her outspokenness? yeah, only sometimes to her faves. Mostly she can just be an asshat.

Oh and yeah that Dannii Minogue thing still pisses me off, I’m not surprised it got the reaction it did. Of course the cynical parts of me think that it’s all just something to get publicity for the show in general and maybe even get sympathy for Danyl in particular. What can I say, trust no one wasn’t just a tag for the X-Files, but it’s a good motto for life.

  10. Geesh, how stupid, especially considering that Michael wasn’t known as a writer.

Yes he was. MJ wrote a lot of his own music. Thats a big reason why he can’t be copied….. For starters he wrote Billie Jean, dirty diana, don’t stop till you get enough, beat it, bad, smooth criminal, heal the world, they dont’ care about us, the way you make me feel, etc. Yes, he had help with the producing, etc. by the likes of Quincy Jones, etc. And people did write songs for him, but he did a lot of his own stuff. Especially in the earlier years. That was part of Michael’s genius.

Personally, I think that is why his later stuff wasn’t as good as the earlier stuff. He sang other people’s songs too much.

  11. I don’t understand Kris’s cover. Why is he in a theater, and what is he looking for? I put this in the Kris thread, but it puzzles me.

They forgot to add the caption: “I just saw a young man looking at empty theater seats. Oh the things that must be going on in his head.”

  12. ETA 2: I got Kris’s single from iTunes yesterday, as part of the pass.

Why did they take so long to make it part of the pass? What about people who bought it already?

  13. “Why did they take so long to make it part of the pass? What about people who bought it already?”

As far as I remember, they emailed people who asked about it saying that the pass DID NOT include LLWD, only the first single, NoBo. If this is true, it seems to me that they probably decided to include it t increase the sales figures. This is so wrong, what about people who downloaded it? They should reimburse them.

  14. So going through the headlines, I never found anything particularly macho about Phil Stacey. I do like him but never for his macho qualities.

Nice to see Kimberly Caldwell still working hard for her career. I always actually liked her and even her voice.

Simon and lilies vs. cats? Too funny and I’m thinking a stretch. I had the most beautiful paperwhites forced on my windowsill. They smelled like soap to me if I got closer than 6 feet from them.

Last, but not in the least, go Paul Anka. Why do I think this is funny?

  15. Why did they take so long to make it part of the pass? What about people who bought it already?

The cynical part of me envisions a bunch of soulless corporate suits standing around smoking cigars, laughing how “We’ll sell them the pass, but then drag our feet on releasing the single as part of the pass — I bet a bunch of them will end up buying both!” And then they all slap each other on the back.

  16. buderschnookie, I just have to share that your screen name is my dog’s new nick name. And that is a compliment!

  17. ETA 2: I got Kris’s single from iTunes yesterday, as part of the pass.

Why did they take so long to make it part of the pass? What about people who bought it already?

No kidding. NoBo, um, THAT CAME OUT IN MAY. I actually couldn’t download it when I tried to last week; it said that I already had it. (?) iTunes is really poorly managed.

  18. Yes he was. MJ wrote a lot of his own music.

I stand corrected…hangs head…thanks for the information. But it still doesn’t excuse his estate from not researching the song before releasing it…especially when the song was recorded!

  19. But it still doesn’t excuse his estate from not researching the song before releasing it’ ¦especially when the song was recorded!

I agree!! His estate is more money hungry now after his death than when he was alive. Its terrible. I just hope they don’t spend all of the money before his kids become of age.

  20. I’m glad the Jacksons acted responsibly once they found out the truth of the song’s history. That first article gave short shrift to Paul Anka and his career, but he has enough clout in the business, even today, to have made a lot of trouble. I think that’s why they didn’t argue at all.

I agree that DWTS is having a down year. I was so bored watching it last night. The cast isn’t as interesting as in years past but even more importantly, I think, there are too many celebs! There is very little personality and too many, besides DeLay, that people just don’t know. Louie Vito? Chuck Liddel? Mark What’s-his-name? It goes on and on. Even the names we know aren’t that great – Michael Irvin sure doesn’t have the personality of Emmitt Smith or even Jerry Rice. I’m glad SYTYCD chose this season to move to fall!

  21. No kidding. NoBo, um, THAT CAME OUT IN MAY. I actually couldn’t download it when I tried to last week; it said that I already had it. (?) iTunes is really poorly managed.

I once got overcharged for something on itunes, emailed them about it, and eventually got a refund, so at least they seem pretty reasonable if you let them know about the pass issue (as in, if you already bought it separately, then got it “again” as part of the pass, you should be reimbursed).

  22. Mila: Why did they take so long to make it part of the pass? What about people who bought it already?

As far as I remember, they emailed people who asked about it saying that the pass DID NOT include LLWD, only the first single, NoBo. If this is true, it seems they probably decided to include it t increase the sales figures. This is so wrong, what about people who downloaded it? They should reimburse them.

Looks to me like someone at 19/Jive figured this was a good way to add whatever the number of iTunes passes they sold as plus units to LLWD’s sales — because this will be reported as a SoundScan sale. Very tacky and someone besides a few avid Idol fans is bound to notice!

ANyone know how many iTunes Kris Allen Passes have been sold?

  23. Since this is the first time they’ve done the pass thing, I think they are (majorly) still working out the kinks. It’s really messed up a lot of things — like Kris’s numbers (we don’t know and may never know how many people bought the stupid pass and are not counted for singles or for album pre-orders), getting LLWD (lots of people were mad that it apparently wasn’t included on their pass, except now it is, except they either already bought it elsewhere or got mad at AI and Kris by extension) and it may even screw up Kris’s take, since AI productions don’t pay royalties in the same way as regular iTunes sales.

Yeah, they really needed to think all of that through before they launched this iTunes pass.

Re: album cover — I think Kris is sitting in the audience of a theater before a show. Like, I used to sit here and be one of the audience and now I’m on stage and my life has completely changed… Ponder that…

  24. Here are the Amazon Bestseller figures for today

    Adam #6
    Kris #131
    Allison #138
    2012 #250

  25. Wait. How is this the estates fault? The name of his tour was ‘This Is It’ . He named it that while he was alive, and obviously he would have performed the song.

No matter what you think of Michael, he wasn’t always the most ethical when it came to business. He stiffed alot of people and he also ruined his friendship with Paul McCartney over the Beatles catalogue.

Sony has said that the song was literally found in a box. If you actually read the article, you would know that MJ had no intention of releasing this song (why would he headline his comeback tour with a 26 year-old Thriller reject?). That’s why it was given to Sa-Fire for usage in 1991.

As for the Beatles catalog, Paul had the chance to buy it, and he didn’t. It’s a lucrative catalog (lol obviously), so MJ went for it. Paul shouldn’t have been so cheap at the time. Too late to act affronted now, business is business.

ETA: Also, for full disclosure, according to the BMI database, there is another “This Is It” solely credited to Michael Jackson from 1979.

  26. This is q3’s quote:

“Looks to me like someone at 19/Jive figured this was a good way to add whatever the number of iTunes passes they sold as plus units to LLWD’s sales”

But that’s the opposite of what usually happens. If you buy a single that is part of an album, and then get the whole album released later, it subtracts from the single’s total because of the “complete the album” feature. That’s what happened with Cook’s numbers last year — the single numbers took a dive when the album came out because of “complete the album.” Because of that, I am guessing anything you get with the pass does NOT count as an individual sale. Which may be why 19 (or whoever is behind this particular curtain) balked at sending LLWD to pass buyers automatically, because it makes a severe dent in the overall sales figures. But now they’ve heard from enough angry buyers that they feel like they have to backtrack and give them the single, anyway. Kris is the only one with the special pass, so there’s no way to really know anything, however. It’s never happened before.

  27. I’m listening to Ryan.. and yess… he’s going to performing at the AMA’s

  28. I’m one hour late for my gym – but IT WAS WORTH IT.

Wailing and scream and rolling on the floor – how will we manage to wait until the AMA show? We will probably ALL be committed!

  29. As far as I remember, they emailed people who asked about it saying that the pass DID NOT include LLWD, only the first single, NoBo. If this is true, it seems to me that they probably decided to include it t increase the sales figures. This is so wrong, what about people who downloaded it? They should reimburse them.

I don’t get this iTunes pass thing. It’s not like a regular album preorder, where usually, you get JUST the first single downloaded immediately, followed by the rest of the album when it’s released. So if this had been a normal preorder situation, I could understand that folks got NoBo immediately, and have to wait til album drop to get the rest of the tracks, including LLWD. If you want LLWD before the album drop date, you’ll just have to buy the single and pay out of pocket to get the track earlier.

BUT, the iTunes pass isn’t a simple preorder situation, in that you’re promised all these cool things that come in prior to the album drop, like tour clips, etc… So I can see how folks expected LLWD even though it wasn’t explicity promised as something people would get right away… but it’s strange that they’re giving it to people now, rather than just making them wait another few weeks to get it on the album. Is it really to up Soundscan numbers to pad the Hot 100 ranking now? Cuz those “single downloads” will get deducted back when the album drops… okay now I’m confusing myself. Yeah, don’t get this at all.

  30. Adam will perform in the AMA’s !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  39. Delighted and proud to see that Phil took time out of a family vacation in the Florida Panhandle, which he and his family so well deserve, to go be part of the Macho Monday lunch at that school in the are :-). The day was for veterans and their children, and it was cool to see an Idol, who himself is now a veteran, surprise them with some music. I personally do not think it is right that apparently some choose to not recognize what happened over 500 years ago on that day; but I am proud of my favorite Idol for giving his time to the kids and their veteran parents. He just got off an appearance at the Trinity Broadcasting Network and a concert at a church that a friend and his wife have started. I know that the kids loved him, based on their statements. Pretty much how many of us feel when Phil is around.<3

  40. I think Adam is not going to disappoint his fans, if the “Miracles” excerpt is any indication. He’s going to pour it on, and this guy is not only talented but obviously extremely sure of his musical direction.

That said, it all just proves to me that music is different strokes for different folks. I just vastly prefer less bombast in my pop, more intimate musicianship and bluesy/jazzy/folky rocking.

I know I’m not alone, and it’s frustrating that Kris has not gotten the kind of smart promotion that went to Adam (who is, I imagine, far more sophisticated about this stuff having been in the biz for a lot longer).

I wish both of them the best, but I wish Kris more backup. I think Adam will do great as it stands.

Also, re the “maybe” Kris album cover: portraits of singers in theaters are very common, if a bit cliche. What’s the beef? It’s just a “miles aisles” sort of reference to a touring musician…..

  41. I saw Kris’ album cover last night and I like it. But is this the new single cover I just found on twitter? Why did they release just now?

    http://twitpic.com/ledm7

BTW, I like that one too.

  42. I know I said I liked the other one but it’s one is really nice also. But am so confused which one is it going to be. Love the picture of him with the guitar.

  43. I just heard LLWD on tv! It was played during a college party scene on As The World Turns. Never thought I would hear it on a soap opera before hearing it on radio.

  44. Four thoughts about the single picture. 1. I wish this was on my Ipod instead of that dumb cover when I downloaded it. 2. I like this better because it conveys that he plays guitar – odd that no guitar was on the album cover. 3 It shows his awesome arms. 4. It leads me to believe there must also be a piano picture in addition to the bathroom, auditorium and guitar pics :)

  45. Another new tour date from DCO:

I just heard LLWD on tv! It was played during a college party scene on As The World Turns. Never thought I would hear it on a soap opera before hearing it on radio.

That’s really interesting and kind of cool. :)

  47. Speaking of Paul Anka, did you all know that he said he would like Archie to play him in his autobiographical Broadway show?

“I’m also working on a Broadway show about my life,” Anka, 67, tells us. I’d like David Archuleta [17-year-old America Idol runner-up] for the lead, because he reminds me so much of myself as a young singer.”

  48. That’s a great picture for Kris’ single cover. Why didn’t they put that on there from the start?

  49. MediaCurves.com collected results from a series of national media studies which obtained Americans’ ratings of celebrities in the news in 2009. Results found that America Idol judge, Randy Jackson and Olympic swimmer, Michael Phelps ranked as the most likeable celebrities. Joe Jackson and Michael Vick ranked lowest on scales of likeability, sincerity and believability.

  50. Michael Sarver tweets:

What up Twitter woooooorld! Hope your all doing well. I had a reality check today. Dissappointing news is hard to swallow isn’t it. Eshk. about 2 hours ago

But my spirits are high dispite it and I do have some good news for u the fans. I will be releasing some upcoming tour dates. Woohooo! about 2 hours ago

I will be on tour in December with the American Stars in Concert for the Holidays along with three other past idols. I want all of u to come about 2 hours ago

I will have a brand new Michael Sarver website up in a few days and I will be posting the dates. I’m very excited about that. about 2 hours

Wonder what the disappointing news was – possible record deal not working out, perhaps?

Anyone going to see Michael on tour?

  51. Sorry if this was already posted – didn’t have time to read through all the posts. Plus Danny just went over 104,000 followers on twitter. Would like more info on songwriters – but nothing yet

dannygokey In the studio finishing up song #4 on the album!!

  52. Wonder what the disappointing news was

Maybe he finally figured out why he’s been losing followers. “Reality check.” Great news though about the tour and new website. Good for him!

  53. jambajim’s tweets:

MTV News team in LA got brizzoculent news from @adamlambert at AMAs today. Can’t wait for the footage to get sent over here so I can write!!

Fun fact: it is nearly impossible to write an article while having a panic attack of joy. MTVNews.com by 6pm. The internet will explode.

It sounds like the second one is also Adam related, right? I don’t know if I have any squees left for today. Maybe he should hold off until tomorrow. :)

ETA : His TFM video will debut before “This Is It”

Good to hear that Danny’s album is coming right along — and at a deliberate but not-too-rushed pace, just what his fans want to see.

Frustrating though that almost no tidbits are leaking out compared to what was heard about Kris, Allison, and Adam’s recording activities over the summer. It would be nice to learn who some of the songwriters and other collaborators may be, beyond Mark Bright as producer and one of the session musicians whose name recently came to light.

  55. Sorry if this was already posted ‘“ didn’t have time to read through all the posts. Plus Danny just went over 104,000 followers on twitter.

Wow, this is really intreseting. It indicates that Danny has a really strong AI fanbase, does it not?

Danny seems to be holding his AI fanbase and growing it some, from what you can make of the twitter statistics. Kris recently passed him, but it took several months for Kris to get there even though Kris (and Adam) have both had a lot more national press exposure than Danny since the AI finale.
Some of his naysayers were putting out theories that Danny’s twitter peeps would drop off like crazy once the tour ended, but instead his followers have continued to grow steadily. He’ll probably do even better once he starts doing promotion for the single due out next month, and that event he has with Ryan Seacrest’s radio station in November.

  57. I’m not sure if this is the place to ask this, but here it is.

MJ, did you ever write a recap for the Cook concert that you attended? I have missed it if you did, could you direct me to it? Thanks.

  59. People have been asking about an add date for Allison’s single and I see it’s now showing up on AllAccess:

    Pop Adds October 27th:
Allison Iraheta: Friday, I’ll be Over U
    Jaicko (featuring Snoop): Oh Yeah
Kings of Leon: Sex on Fire
Leighton Meester (featuring Robin Thicke): Somebody to Love

  60. Kris says hi!!

Hey to you, too, Kris (waves) !!!

  61. ‘I’m also working on a Broadway show about my life,’ Anka, 67, tells us. I’d like David Archuleta [17-year-old America Idol runner-up] for the lead, because he reminds me so much of myself as a young singer.’

I am probably one of the few who does remember Paul Anka on ‘American Bandstand’ and he was loved. Just as Archie is. I can absolutely see David protraying him. Acting lessons coming up.

Happy to see Phil getting involved with the Veterans this way.

Shocked to see no nods to Kelly Clarkson. She’s such a terrific singer!

  62. The Kris tweet: Bwah! The utter lack of punctuation truly makes it art.

It is cracking me up though possibly not as much as it’s cracking up ontd_ai, which is at >180 (hilarious) comments and counting. Considering what his actual twitter replies must look like, this could be the best comment to tweet word count ratio *ever*.

ION, Kirsten, thank you for the Allison info!

  63. I’m thinking Kris is in for another late night of recording, if this is what he’s eating…

  64. My offering before I go to bed after a drive back from Richmond up I-95 that felt like it took about 3 years.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWh5X72tVKk

We got acoustic Life on the Moon tonight… it was a great show down in Richmond. Just a snippet… but that’s the only video I can find so far. I, again, couldn’t take video or pics, couldn’t multitask, was only like 4 rows from the front and was… well. Love :)

  65. Thank you, tierbee. Glad you had another great show. Youtube is going to be fun tomorrow. : )

  66. No restaurant encounters this time :) but I was only like 4 rows back and it was amazing. I’m sure lots of videos will surface, some of which will have me either saying WOOOOOOO or singing along because I swear everyone around me was videotaping the show!

  67. I don’t know how people manage the videotaping (I’ve never been able to stand that still at a concert and god knows nobody needs to hear me singing along, which I also can’t help) but I am so glad they do. I think back to some of the epic concerts I went to years ago and only wish camcorders and youtube had been around then!

I’m also laughing that you got the movie theater story, even if cleaned up for a general audience. *g* Did he reveal who the culprit was?

  68. Thanks, tierbee for LOTM video link. I come to MJ’s site for Cookie crumbs only so I am always so happy to see your posts.

  69. Now 32 track listings are out (release date Nov 10, 2009). Here are the Idols that made the list:

    Track Listings
    13. Battlefield -Jordin Sparks
    14. Already Gone -Kelly Clarkson
    15. No Surprise-Daughtry
    21. Had It All -Katharine McPhee

No offense to Kat, but I’m not sure how that last one made it on there. It’s not exactly tearing up the charts like most of the other tracks. Nevertheless, the “Now” series sales like crazy so it’s always nice to be included.
