Scotty McCreery Is the First Artist To Be Featured in Deluxe Edition Of ‘ZinePak Available Exclusively At Walmart

Mercury Nashville/19 Recordings/Interscope artist Scotty McCreery has been chosen as the first artist to release a CD in the successful ‘ZinePak configuration, which features his debut album, Clear As Day, and exclusive elements, including a magazine with never-before-seen family photos and personal information about Scotty.

The ‘ZinePak – pronounced “ZEEN-pack” – will be on sale exclusively at Walmart beginning Oct. 4. It will be available in the music department, alongside the standard edition of Clear As Day. Fewer than 80, 000 ‘ZinePaks will be produced, making this a truly limited edition.

“I am honored and flattered to be the first one chosen for a deluxe edition ‘ZinePak, ” Scotty says. “It was a lot of fun working with Kim and Brittany, the editors of ‘ZinePak.

Pittsburgh ‘American Idol’ Hopefuls Sing For Randy, Steven, J. Lo

PITTSBURGH — Potential “American Idol” contestants are auditioning Thursday for judges Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

“It’s exciting and intense. I’m not nervous, but I’m just very happy that I’ve made it this far, ” said Courtney Flege, of Kentucky.

Fox’s Kevin Reilly on ‘X Factor’ Ratings, ‘Terra Nova’ and the Future of ‘Glee’ (Exclusive Q&A)

THR: Simon Cowell told THR that if X Factor didn’t attract 20 million viewers, it would be a “disappointment.”

Reilly: God bless him — that’s our Simon. I don’t know that we would put it in quite those same terms. But like he says all the time: Nobody goes out to win the bronze medal. Is the show capable of doing 20 million? It sure is. [The show debuted Sept. 21 with 12.5 million viewers.] I like the vibe of it, and the judges’ panel feels right. As far as expectations in general this year, one of the concerns we have is that we can win and still be perceived to be failing.

The Media Theatre’s production of “Chicago” has opening night Friday September 30 after three preview performances. With Broadway’s Justin Guarini (American Idiot, Women on The Verge) as charismatic attorney Billy Flynn, the musical plays through November 6. Check out a photo of Guarini in action below!

Guarini, who became a household name as the season one runner-up on “American Idol”, shares the stage with Hillary Elliott as Velma, Alicia Jayne Kelly as Roxie, and Demetria Bailey as Matron ‘Mama’ Morton in the satirical look at the criminal justice system. The show is directed by three time Barrymore Award winner Jennie Eisenhower.

Kara DioGuardi, Chad Kimball, Daniel Radcliffe, et al. to Be Featured on Carols for a Cure CDs

An updated list of featured vocalists for Broadway’s Carols for a Cure, Vol. 13, the annual holiday CD set benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA), has been released.

Along with the previously announced, Reeve Carney, T.V. Carpio, Montego Glover, Hugh Panaro, Daniel Radcliffe, and Roger Rees, the discs will feature performances by Robert Creighton, Kara DioGuardi, Kathy Fitzgerald, Nathan Lee Graham, Chad Kimball, Ryan Lowe, Selloane Nkhela, Jim Stanek, Martha Wash, and Alton Fitzgerald White.

Kellie Pickler Revisits Painful Childhood With New Album

“I didn’t realize how bad the situation was until I went back as an adult, ” Kellie tells The Boot. “In shooting the [‘Mother’s Day’] video in particular, going back to those childhood moments, seeing my father struggle with his alcoholism and drug addiction … He was always in trouble with the law. Always. So it was a battle to have to go and visit him in the penitentiary as a child, but that was so normal for me. Looking at it now, as an adult, that’s not normal. That’s not the way it’s supposed to be. I got to hit a whole lot of places, a whole lot of my past in shooting this.”
