Bassist: ‘Idol’ won’t interfere with Aerosmith

According to Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton, the 62-year-old singer believes he has the time and energy for both “Idol” and the band.

“Steven’s been very emphatic in saying that the way his time is arranged on the show leaves room to work on a record, ” Hamilton said yesterday from his home near Boston. “He’s been taking great pains to remind everybody of that, so hopefully that’s the way it will come out.”

“There’s a lot of not knowing what’s going to happen, but that’s how it’s always been for us, ” Hamilton said. “I’m not sitting here thinking that (Tyler on “American Idol”) is not going to work for us. Steven is an incredible I-can-do-anything kind of guy. But he’s taken a big bite, and I’m looking forward to seeing him chew it.”

David, of course, is in York as the headliner for WLAN’s Birthday Barnyard Dance. Check back later for coverage and photos from the show.

Interview: Taylor Hicks, on Music, Business, and His Future

Taylor Hicks is a maverick, determined to carve his own path through the often daunting music industry. By his own admission, it hasn’t been easy. His life changed forever in 2006, when he won American Idol during the show’s fifth season. His Idol coronation single, “Do I Make You Proud, ” was an instant number one Billboard hit. His major label debut album, Taylor Hicks, sold nearly 300, 000 copies in its first week, eventually receiving platinum certification from the RIAA.

Soon after the first flush of stardom, Taylor Hicks made the very brave decision to manage his career independently. He’d been toiling away at the lower rungs of the business for ten years prior to American Idol. During that time, he developed a very strong vision of himself as an artist. With his Idol victory validating the years of hard work, Hicks put his plans into action – even though it required swimming against the mainstream current.

X Factor sneak peek: Chloe Mafia ruins her chances with a vodka binge

CHLOE MAFIA ruined her chances of X Factor stardom by going on a drinking session before a make-or-break audition.

And the mother’s hangover is clearly visible in tonight’s bleary-eyed performance.
