Carrie Underwood’s Mom (and Hubby) Cameo in New Music Video

Carrie Underwood’s latest music video may look a little bit like a family home video. That’s because it stars her mother Carole and new husband Mike Fisher.

The country singer, 27, enlisted her loved ones for the “Mama’s Song” video, which premieres on Friday. The tune, off 2009’s Play On, is about leaving the nest and finding the man of her dreams.

“[Mike’s] not ‘in’ it but you can tell it’s him, ” Underwood tells PEOPLE about the hockey player’s cameo. “He hung out with my mom [on set] and he’s great with her.”

J. Lo’s ex on ‘keep out’ list

Things could get wild if Jennifer Lopez’s ex-husband Ojani Noa makes good on his threat to show up at one of the upcoming ”American Idol” auditions — hoping to confront J. Lo as she sits on the hit show’s judging panel.

Note to Noa: That will be very tough to make happen — especially since Lopez and the ”Idol” honchos are well aware of his intentions.

According to key Fox and ”Idol” sources, Lopez has provided them with all kinds of information about her very estranged ex-hubby — including photos, detailed descriptions and even some recordings of him singing.

‘Glee’ Star Reveals Britney Spears Episode Details

“Through a special substance, I go under and have a couple of dream sequences — not only myself, but with Santana [Naya Rivera], ” Morris explained. “A lot of it has to do with Will [Matthew Morrison] not allowing us to perform Britney Spears songs, because he doesn’t agree with what kind of entertainer she is, so it’s our fight to do Britney. But it’s not just us doing Britney in show choir; there are other sequences — it’s our homage to her.”

In the episode, which airs next Tuesday, viewers might catch a rendition of Spears’ 2003 hit collabo with Madonna “Me Against the Music.” Last month, the singer tweeted on-set photos of her and Morris re-enacting a scene from the girl-on-girl clip. Aside from the Madonna collaboration, ” … Baby One More Time” and “Toxic” are also reported to be part of the episode.

Vulture’s Painstakingly Accurate Map of Glee’s McKinley High

Some fictional places — like Lord of the Rings’ Middle Earth, or Harry Potter’s Hogwarts — have been mapped in such detail that we know the exact location of every Hobbit hole, over-size spider’s nest, and moving staircase. Not so with Glee’s William McKinley High, where it’s never been clear just how the one hallway the students and teachers are always walking through connects to the principal’s office or the football field. But because it’s important to know, say, how far Sue Sylvester’s office is from the rehearsal room — can she hear the glee club practice? Has that been one of her secret methods of sabotage this whole time? — we’ve tried to assemble the definitive map of McKinley High.

Channeling Charted TV Themes

Upon the return of “Glee” – and a week before the “Glee” cast could extend its sum of Hot 100 entries past 64, the seventh-best total in the chart’s history – Chart Beat looks back at 30 TV theme songs that have impacted Billboard charts in the past 30 years. (Even if “Glee” itself, a TV series that has revolutionized the way the medium has spotlighted music, features only an approximately two-second a capella vocal stab for its theme …)

How “Glee” is changing high school choir

But according to Ralph Opacic, founder and director of the Orange County High School of the Arts in Santa Ana, Calif., not to mention Matthew Morrison’s former music teacher, “Glee” may soon render that brand of show choir obsolete. Often identified as the “real” Will Schuester (Morrison’s character), for the many career parallels between the two, Opacic was at the forefront of the modern show choir movement in the early ’80s, using arrangements of current radio hits as a way to hook students in the performing arts. His choir program at Los Alamitos High School was so successful that he landed a government grant to open OCHSA in 1987, starting out with 100 students. Now in its 24th year, the school has a student body of over 1, 300 and ranks consistently among the top public high schools in the nation. The runaway success of “Glee, ” and Matthew Morrison’s subsequent rise to fame, has garnered national attention for his alma mater. Opacic even attended the Emmys as Morrison’s plus one, where he chatted with Ryan Seacrest and sat next to Betty White.

Why Sarah Palin Didn’t Show Up to Support Bristol’s ‘Dancing’ Debut

Last night’s big gossip from the set of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ is on the one big name who didn’t show. Sarah Palin was planning on making an appearance to support daughter Bristol’s dancing debut. It seemed like such a sure thing that extra metal detectors were set up for security measures. But I was told in the eleventh hour that Sarah realized it was Bristol’s night. If she sat in the audience, she would have stolen the spotlight from her girl. Sources tell me that we now can expect to see her in the audience next week.

On the Scene: Jennifer Grey Remembers Patrick Swayze on ‘Dancing With the Stars’

The first night jitters are officially out of the way. Twelve stars and their celebrity pro partners took to the dance floor and performed either a Cha-Cha or a Viennese Waltz on the ‘Dancing With the Stars’ season 11 opening night show. Actress Jennifer Grey, singer Brandy Norwood and athletes Rick Fox and Kurt Warner performed well — as expected — but the surprise of the night was teen actor Kyle Massey, who brought to mind a young Warren Sapp (Kym Johnson’s season 7 partner) when he performed a dynamite dance with Lacey Schwimmer.

TV Squad was on the post-show press line to get reactions from all 24 participants. For one unlucky couple, alas, it’s their second-to-last interview, because tonight one duo is going home.
