Album Sales Hit Low Mark For Third Time This Year
For the third time this year, weekly album sales have dipped under the 5 million mark, and this week established the latest low watermark for that measure in the history of Nielsen SoundScan.
Album sales for the week ending Sept. 12 were 4.83 million, which is down from the previous low of 4.95, set for the week ending Aug. 15. And that was down from the 4.98 million for the week ending May 30, the first ever dip under the 5 million mark for weekly album sales.

Kellie Pickler Trying to ‘Jump into Wedding Mode’
“I’m in the middle of working on an album and on the Rascal Flatts tour, so trying to juggle that and plan a wedding has been a challenge, ” she said Tuesday at the ASCAP Awards in Nashville. “I think once the record gets finished I can jump into wedding mode.”
As for getting into tip-top shape, the bride-to-be seems to already have that part down. Down two dress sizes since the CMT Awards in June, Pickler credits a change in eating habits and cutting out “a lot of junk.”

Think you remember Taylor Hicks, the salt-and-pepper-haired, happy-go-lucky Alabama boy who won the 2006 American Idol?
Well, you might need to think again.
“You have to create a character to imprint yourself on the brains of people who watch the show, ” Taylor explained to me when we talked about expectations for his Saturday night show at Rutland’s Paramount Theatre. “American Idol was more character-oriented than if I was allowed to play instruments like I do now.”

‘Idol’ star doubles on country
It’s no secret that country singer and “American Idol” alum Bucky Covington often has his fans seeing double.
In fact, the freaky mirror effect will be in full flower Friday night, when Covington and, yes, Covington converge on the stage at downtown Bloomington’s Six Strings.
He and his shadow are, in fact, Bucky and his identical twin brother, Rocky.
