Chris Sligh Weighs In on ‘Ugly’ ‘American Idol’ Rumors

Chris feels that it may be a brilliant move on the part of ‘Al’ producers to pick the former frontman for Aerosmith as a judge. “Randy [Jackson] is there and it’s supposedly Steven Tyler and J-Lo … I have a feeling Steven Tyler is going to be a genius move, ” Chris tells The Boot. “Everybody is questioning it, but I think it’s going to be genius because that guy is so high all the time, it’s going to be like Paula, except for in a crabby male version. It’s going to be like if you combine Simon and Paula without the empathy. It’s going to be awesome, and plus, that dude is so ugly that I cannot imagine on HDTV … that is just going to be epic.”

Liv Tyler: Aerosmith Dad ‘Good’ For ‘Idol’

“American Idol” and Steven Tyler have not officially announced that the rocker is headed to the judges’ table – but daughter Liv Tyler gave Access Hollywood her endorsement.

“My father would be a good judge of anything, I think!” the big screen beauty told Access at the re-opening of the Chanel Soho boutique in New York City on Thursday.

Liv, who looked chic in a black semi-satin jumpsuit, stopped short , however, of confirming that her rocker dad was indeed headed to the FOX series.

Susan Boyle – Perfect Day

We just got this statement from Simon Cowell, creator and Executive Producer of “America’s Got Talent, ” who says if Reed did turn thumbs down it’s “petty — so pathetic.”

Cowell adds, “Loads of people have covered this song … Well Lou, if you’re listening to this, do we have permission, yes or no, to put the song on ‘America’s Got Talent’ next week? Personal request from me.”

Simon Cowell has insisted he is not quitting the British X Factor – after revealing he is on the brink of signing a fresh multi-million pound deal with ITV.

The multi-millionaire, 50, had prompted fears he was set to leave the UK version of the hit talent show to concentrate on the new American series of the X Factor.

However, the outspoken star denied this today, as he revealed the X Factor will likely be off screen for a year and launch on air in January 2012. As well as this, Britain’s Got Talent will be moved to next autumn – and will have a longer run.

  1. If I didn’t have a $2,000 TV, I would literally throw the remote at the TV every time she talked.

    Oh Chris Sligh….Never Change.

  2. Ass..it is thy name, Sligh.

He talks about Kara being condescending (no real argument from me on that) but his mouth just always gets to me. He’s so arrogant wrapped in “just being honest” that it makes ME want to throw something…at him.

    Sheesh.

As to dogging out Tyler’s looks…um, yeah, Sligh, don’t order any kinda sash for yourself anytime soon….

He just has always hit me wrong with his supposed “humor”. Just do.not.see.it.

I know he’s had success as a songwriter, whatever, but he’s just not all that and a bag of chips, like he thinks he is. ‘course, I get the feeling he would be like this whether one person or millions knew who he is. Icky.

Alrighty, then…more than enough thoughts on him…

  3. haha i love how Lee’s done a pretty good job of keeping the songwriters but the songwriters can just say whatevs they want anyway =]
hoping he keeps his folk rock sound with these writers

  4. Is there a way we can get a hold of Lou Reed and tell him not to give in to Simon. He needs to stand by his decision. He REALLY NEEDS to stand by his decision….j/s

    ^This!

  6. I listened to Anoop’s new EP (snippets) and it sounds pretty good. Bought one or two. I like it.

  7. The Susan Boyle mess looks like a PR stunt to me. A way to make people feel sorry for her, etc. If not, than her management are the most incompetent people on the planet!

How else can you explain not having song clearance for a song 2 hours before a live broadcast!

Alternative theory — they thought that Susan was so big no one would say no to her??? That would just make them idiots!

  8. Claude Kelly wrote with Kris last year but the song(s) didn’t make the album. I think he’s written with a bunch of Idols — have a lot of these ended up on albums?

  9. I saw on twitter that Maroon 5’s and The Script’s albums have leaked? Anybody else see/hear this?

  10. This is so cool. A building in Austria that lights up in sync with music. Someone videoed it when it was playing Whataya Want From Me

inscrutable7 Woah! RTAdamLambertTV: The lights of the Ars Electronica Center in Linz (Austria) animates to the sound of Adam Lambert http://bit.ly/cn3KSD

  11. Claude Kelly wrote with Kris last year but the song(s) didn’t make the album. I think he’s written with a bunch of Idols — have a lot of these ended up on albums?

    A few have:

Kelly Clarkson – My Life Would Suck Without You
Adam Lambert – For Your Entertainment
David Archuletta – Complain and Falling Stars
    Fantasia – Bittersweet
    Jordin Sparks – The Cure

He’s also written for Christina Aguilera, Britney, Whitney, Miley Cyrus, The Backstreet Boys, to name a few.

Lee and Claude Kelly? Hmmmmm….that could be….interesting.

Yes, it will definitely be interesting.

  12. Archie is such a hoot! LOL! Very sweet to his fans too.

Yeah, I love how he always find ways to keep us in the loop.

  13. I didn’t watch season six, but from what little I’ve seen from Chris Sligh, I think he’s honest and down to earth and yes funny. I don’t always agree with him, but like him.

  14. Claude, Kara and Hodges?

Hodges I can see. The other two don’t exactly seem in Lee’s wheelhouse.

Any word on the producer, yet?

  15. Claude has also written with David C. so writing with Lee isn’t that odd. I’m a huge fan of his work and have read lots of articles about his approach to songwriting, IMO he’s got the ability to write for all genres.

  16. I squeed too when I saw the tweet from Claude. I hope what they write makes the album. I love Claude’s work too and it’ll be interesting to see what they came out with.

  17. Any word on the producer, yet?

Espionage was there today as well. It’s unclear whether they were there as producers (probably) or songwriters.

  18. lols..Lee fans have been tweeting Claude since that tweet and so in response:
    @ClaudeKelly:
shout out to all the #LeeDewyze fans who’ve been tweeting me. met & worked w/ him for the 1st time 2day. what a laidback, cool talented guy!”
    AND
“Sidebar: i think its funny when ppl think that cuz ive written pop songs that i cant write for Lee Dewyze>>read my twitter bio. thanx.”

Twitter bio is: “I like the sound boxes make when I break out of them :)”

So i guess we shouldnt be too worried. srsly cant wait for this album to land.

  19. I read an interview about Claude Kelly that said when he cowrites with someone he can help bring out the person’s style and personality and put it into their music. So that when he writes with someone, it sounds like them. It’s just that he brings it out in a form that could be a hit song. Something like that.

  20. I feel like a gossip columnist but couldn’t resist posting this.
