Chris feels that it may be a brilliant move on the part of ‘Al’ producers to pick the former frontman for Aerosmith as a judge. “Randy [Jackson] is there and it’s supposedly Steven Tyler and J-Lo … I have a feeling Steven Tyler is going to be a genius move, ” Chris tells The Boot. “Everybody is questioning it, but I think it’s going to be genius because that guy is so high all the time, it’s going to be like Paula, except for in a crabby male version. It’s going to be like if you combine Simon and Paula without the empathy. It’s going to be awesome, and plus, that dude is so ugly that I cannot imagine on HDTV … that is just going to be epic.”

Liv Tyler: Aerosmith Dad ‘Good’ For ‘Idol’

“American Idol” and Steven Tyler have not officially announced that the rocker is headed to the judges’ table – but daughter Liv Tyler gave Access Hollywood her endorsement.

“My father would be a good judge of anything, I think!” the big screen beauty told Access at the re-opening of the Chanel Soho boutique in New York City on Thursday.

Liv, who looked chic in a black semi-satin jumpsuit, stopped short , however, of confirming that her rocker dad was indeed headed to the FOX series.

Simon Cowell insists he is NOT quitting X Factor… but reveals there will be no show next year

Simon Cowell has insisted he is not quitting the British X Factor – after revealing he is on the brink of signing a fresh multi-million pound deal with ITV.

The multi-millionaire, 50, had prompted fears he was set to leave the UK version of the hit talent show to concentrate on the new American series of the X Factor.

However, the outspoken star denied this today, as he revealed the X Factor will likely be off screen for a year and launch on air in January 2012. As well as this, Britain’s Got Talent will be moved to next autumn – and will have a longer run.
