Sometime in the far future, after the zombie apocalypse and the Seldon-predicted collapse of the empire, historians will look back at this period and try to puzzle out just who Simon Cowell was. A king? A sentient robot? A god?

American Idol’s Siobhan Magnus shows singing isn’t her only talent

Siobhan Magnus was, if we’re being very honest, the only remotely interesting thing about American Idol 9’s top 10.

She gave us interesting twists on familiar songs. She dressed like a star. She was quirky, intelligent and often seemed to be in her own world — and it was fun to watch.

Plus, those high notes. Those gorgeous, guttural screams that polarized viewers but were nothing short of supernatural. In short, Magnus was the closest thing this season to series standout Adam Lambert.

He’s always wearing an ear-to-ear grin, and David Archuleta was spotted showing off that adorable smile at the Gifting Services Gifting Suite in Los Angeles, CA on Tuesday (August 3).

The “American Idol” runner-up looked cute in jeans and a t-shirt as he meandered down the red carpet, and stopped to pose for some promo shots while holding some Shape-Ups.

In other news, it was recently announced that Mr Archuleta’s upcoming album “The Other Side of Down” has gotten its release date pushed back.

Glee Creator Ryan Murphy Developing a Musical Series for Pal Kristin Chenoweth

Another day, another fountain of news spurting out of TCA. Yesterday, Glee creator Ryan Murphy announced to journalists that he was developing a half-hour musical comedy series for his dear friend Kristin Chenoweth. Though the Emmy-winning actress did guest on Glee, the new show would not be a spin-off, but rather a brand new series that would showcase Chenoweth’s unique talent. “I’ve always wanted to do something for Kristin, ” Murphy was quoted as saying. “Kristin is a good, close friend of mine obviously, so I’m writing a half-hour musical comedy specifically for Kristin because if you can sing like that, I want her to be the star of her own show where she sings. I can’t say too much about it yet. Kristin is so funny. I want it to be adult.” The project is in its nascent stages, but EW can confirm that Chenoweth is indeed in negotiations to star.

Moments ago, a federal judge overturned California’s ban on same-sex marriages — and just seconds after the news broke, Ellen DeGeneres was already celebrating … via Twitter.
