Just before 3 o’clock Saturday, a scream sounds the alarm: The American Idols Live tour buses have been spotted.

A fire evacuation at the Idols’ hotel has delayed them two hours. Upon arrival, bottled water makes the rounds, and buddies Lee DeWyze and Andrew Garcia begin a game of catch with them.

SomethingPitchy Backstage With the Idols: Didi Benami and Andrew Garcia (VIDEO)

First up is Didi Benami, who talked about meeting Colbie Caillat, wanting to collaborate with Jason Mraz, what really happens on the girls’ tour bus and then, well, the interview kind of veered into goofy girl talk territory.

Then, it was Andrew Scott vs. Andrew Garcia, who attempted a little game of Paula Abdul trivia. (Keyword there is “attempt.”) Garcia became well-known on the show for his take on the former ‘Idol’ judge’s hit single, ‘Straight Up, ‘ but that definitely doesn’t mean he’s an Abdul-a-holic. Garcia also talked about the boys’ bizarre bus antics. (Late Night Pecs, anyone?)

Dee Snyder wants Simon’s Job

“I would love to be on there, ” Dee tells Reality Rocks. “Those who don’t know me would say, ‘That guy? What’s he doing on there?’ But once I started opening my yap, they’d go, ‘Oh, that’s what he’s doing on there!'”

Dee actually reveals that he was once contacted by someone at “Idol” about applying for Simon’s post. “It’s funny, because I actually got a call–although this wasn’t THE call–because I worked with [‘American Idol’ production company] Fremantle when they did ‘Rock The Cradle.’ And one day when Simon announced he was leaving, this call came in from one of their producers. It was like ‘Dee, you should throw your hat in the ring! You’d be great!'”

Exclusive Glee Video: Hilarity Ensues after Cast Drops Major-ish Season 2 Spoilers

If I had a dime for every time a Glee clubber told me the show is like one big happy family I’d have, like, a good $9.80. But here’s a shocker: I think it’s actually true! But don’t take my word for it. Watch my interview with the majority of the show’s cast (conducted Saturday at Comic-Con) and see for yourself. Aside from a healthy dose of camaraderie, the clip also features scoop on Kurt’s boyfriend (the plot’s been delayed!) Brittany’s big episode (Heather Morris already channeling Ms. Spears!), and the upcoming wedding that has everyone talking. (And by talking I mean scratching their heads in utter confusion.) Enjoy!
