Q&A: Clay Aiken Talks ‘Drop Dead Diva’

Q: How did you get involved in working on Drop Dead Diva?

Clay Aiken: They had called me a while back, a few years ago to do a different episode and I was not able to do it. I was out of out town and was not able to get to Atlanta.

And when they called again – we had left it open and asked them, you know, to call back at another time and we would be interested. Just the timing didn’t work out and when they called this time, I think they had in mind to, you know, this particular episode. And it was something that I was much more interesting in doing.

‘Glee’ Season 3: EP talks Finn and Rachel, Will and Emma

While Falchuk said Finn and Rachel will face obstacles on their road to graduation, he revealed the couple will not be breaking up anytime soon. “That relationship — we’re not interested in breaking them up this year and, at the same time, there’s the challenges of you’re graduating and they’re different kinds of people and where does that take you? I think that’s what we’ll explore with that.”

So what about Will and Emma? “They’ll be getting into it this year, ” Falchuk said. “All the relationships [fans] should feel really comfortable with. We’re not really interested in breaking anybody up this year, but those are all relationships we’re going to get into. Will and Emma definitely, especially in the first ten.”

Criss said, “She definitely brought back a lot of soul to mainstream, and it’s really unfortunate to see her go, but I think she’ll live on in other artists who will follow [with] the same soul.”

Sir Philip Green owns no stake in Simon Cowell’s Syco

Announcing the formation of the entertainment vehicle, in January 2010, Cowell and Sony said that each would own 50% of the new company. The statement said that Green, the retail magnate behind TopShop, would be “an adviser to Simon Cowell and a shareholder in the company, majority owned and controlled by Cowell, which will serve as the partner with Sony Music”.

However, documents lodged at Companies House earlier this month show that Green does not hold a stake in Syco.

The ownership structure is a far cry from plans outlined by Cowell and Green in 2010. In an interview with GQ magazine the pair spoke of becoming partners in a business that would become a “new Disney”, with merchandising and retail arms.
