SIMON Cowell returned to The X Factor yesterday – and tried to nick Louis Walsh’s judging seat.
The music mogul, 51, who dropped out of the British show to launch the US version, turned up at the London auditions in his guise as executive producer.
He greeted the 10, 000 fans at the O2 Arena and asked: “Shall I take Louis’ seat?” The crowd cheered but Cowell smiled and disappeared backstage.

Hines Ward Busted for DUI
Hines Ward — star wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers and reigning “Dancing With the Stars” champion — was arrested this morning for driving under the influence of alcohol … TMZ has learned.
Ward was popped in Dekalb County, GA and held on $1, 000 bond. He posted shortly thereafter and was released.
