Daughtry raising money for Nashville flood relief
Daughtry, which is scheduled to play Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena this Sunday, has set aside sections of the arena where tickets will be just $10 (plus service charges). The sale price of each of those tickets will be donated to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee to aid with flood relief in the area. And if that wasn’t enough to get the town out, the band will be joined onstage by Kelly Clarkson and Three Doors Down singer Brad Arnold.

‘Idolatry’: Michael Lynche on that stoic Judges’ Save, Hollywood Week baby talk, and the ‘cocky contestant’ label
Confidence is all you’ve got when you’re a contestant on the American Idol stage, says season 9?s fourth-place finisher, Michael Lynche. The burly personal trainer stopped by the Idolatry studios to talk about reducing Kara to tears with “This Woman’s Work, ” trying to avoid “getting lost” in his Idol backstory, and staying stoic after being named the recipient of this season’s Judges’ Save (“It wasn’t a jump-for-joy situation”). We also dished Idol‘s poor track record with black male contestants, the Mary J. Blige song he almost covered for R&B Week, and how Timbaland and One Republic inspired his “Eleanor Rigby” cover.

‘Idol’: Final pre-finale thoughts on Crystal and Lee
So let’s see what happens tonight as the Final 2 sing their last three songs. This contest is far from a sure thing; but on a personal note, I have to make one final pre-finale declaration: After so many years of covering “this cheesy show” (to borrow a phrase from another tireless “Idol” blogger), it’s thrilling that this season has come around to my musical taste (thanks in large part to Lee, Siobhan, Lilly, Casey and, of course, Crystal), but also somewhat disheartening to know that so many “Idol” loyalists are just not that into it.
Crystal’s Papasox and stepmom: ‘The family’s been more weirded out than she has’
Bill Bowersox is an easy man to spot, what with his handlebar mustache, leather beret and look of absolute bewilderment while trying to navigate the L.A. Live complex. That’s where I ran into Papasox and his ex (Crystal’s former stepmom) as they were exiting the Nokia Theatre. Naturally, I had to ask about the family’s reaction to Crystal’s big night. And surprisingly, Bill said it wasn’t at all nerve-wracking watching his daughter give it her all on Tuesday’s performance show.
Charley chats with idols in Hollywood
Charley Belcher joined Good Day live from Hollywood this morning, and he seems to be having a great time on the left coast! Charley talked to to a bunch of former contestants about tonight being Simon Cowell’s last night on “American Idol, ” gave us his thoughts on Lee and Crystal’s performances, and introduced one “Big Mike” to another.
Tedder, Clarkson and the “Halo” effect
Tedder has heard the leak. And he agrees with the Internet speculation.
“I’m pretty sure that song was ‘somewhat’ about me … and her record label, ” Tedder told The Denver Post. “But I actually like it — I think Kelly speaks her mind regardless of anything. She’s great with lyrics, and I love that she is her own person. She’s no puppet.”
Has the drama affected Tedder and Clarkson’s working relationship? It doesn’t sound like it.
“I’m working on stuff for her next album and am personally over any of the drama between the two of us, ” Tedder said. “It’s silly. ‘Already Gone’ is now a bigger hit than ‘Halo’ was, so I think she’s probably happy, too.” Ricardo Baca.

Next ‘American Idol’ Champ to Sing in Famed Disney Commercial
Either Lee DeWyze or Crystal Bowersox will sing “When You Wish Upon A Star” for a Disney commercial set to air on TV within hours of Wednesday night’s “American Idol” finale.
Bowersox or DeWyze’s voice will be featured crooning the beloved ‘Pinocchio’ tune in the newest “I’m Going to Disney World!” commercial. The new “Idol” winner will also shout the famous phrase moments after being crowned champ, and Disney cameras will also be on hand to capture the proclamation.
‘American Idol’: David Archuleta picks Season 9 winner — Team Crystal or Team Lee?
But obviously one of the million dollar “Idol” questions of the moment — along with who will replace Simon Cowell — is who will win Season 9?
“I think people just really feel a connection with Lee that is really honest and open. And he’s just such a great guy. I think people want to see him win. I would totally be happy with him winning, ” says Archuleta.
Poll: David Archuleta Voted Best “American Idol” Ever
Winning our poll is “really flattering, ” Archuleta tells Billboard.com. “I guess the fans I have are just really supportive. I think it’s cool that people consider me their favorite, especially because it’s Billboard. I check Billboard every week and I’m starting to get the magazine more, and I have a Billboard book, so it’s just funny that this is from Billboard, too. It’s not just some teen website, you know? It’s Billboard. I think that’s cool.”

VIDEO: Idol Confessions with Bo Bice
Ever the jokester Season 4 runner-up Bo Bice may have had a little too much fun with our “Idol Confessions” topics — and before 10 a.m., no less! — starting with his favorite memory from the show, which involves a toilet seat, some plastic wrap and Anthony Federov, and ending with his backup career: deep coral fishing in the Florida Keys. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, actually. The Alabama native, who currently calls Nashville home, is father to three boys all under the age of 5, no doubt pining for constant entertainment.
Cowell’s Exit Complicates ‘Idol’ Outlook
LOS ANGELES — At the end of an “American Idol” season called boring and absurd by critics, the departure of Simon Cowell from the judges’ table is likely to trump whatever decision the voters make about the final two singers, Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze.
The show’s producers are making Mr. Cowell’s farewell a major part of Wednesday night’s finale at the Nokia Theater here. Paula Abdul and some former “Idol” winners are expected to be there.
Simon Cowell’s Favorite ‘Idol’ Moment
He has kind words about his former “Idol” colleague, Paula Abdul, who recently signed with CBS for a new dancing competition show “Got to Dance” — and who will be making an appearance on the “Idol” season finale Wednesday night.
“I sent her a note saying I was actually pleased that somebody has built a show around her. It proves her star power and Paula is a survivor. She’s much smarter than people know. What I said is, and I literally mean this, I would welcome her on any of my shows. Anytime, ” said Cowell.
Simon Cowell’s ‘Idol’ Departure: The End of An Era
Eight years ago, Americans were shocked and outraged by an unknown, black T-shirt-wearing Brit who deigned to tell us what to think.
This week, he bids farewell to the show that made him a household name and, at once, arguably the most hated and most admired personality on television, and we’re not really sure what to think — or what we’ll ever think again.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ results: We have a winner!
After 10 weeks, 17 dances and more sparkle and shine than the Main Street Electrical Parade, Season 10 of “Dancing With the Stars” has finally come to an end. And loosen up your buttons, ballroom fans, because the winner of the coveted Mirrorball trophy — announced in a blazing fireball and a shower of pyrotechnics — was pop star Nicole Scherzinger!
Though the crowning of this Lady of the Dance (competition) wasn’t really a surprise, was it? The Pussycat Doll and partner Derek Hough were dominant for most of the season. They managed to maintain that lead and even build upon it against fellow finalists Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya in their final knockout dance. They received a perfect 30 for their jive, Len’s proclamation that Nicole deserved to be the winner of the competition and Nicole got a hug from Gladys Knight (yes, that one with the Pips). The Mirrorball was theirs to lose.
Ryan and Randy Jackson Get Emotional Filming Simon Cowell’s Farewell Piece [VIDEO]
Tonight marks the end of an era as “American Idol”‘s notoriously snarky and painfully honest judge Simon Cowell bids adieu to the show that made him a household name in America.
To send him off in style, the show’s producers gathered cast and crew last week to tape various farewell video segments – Ryan shot his with Randy Jackson. These three partners in crime are inseparable while on the road for auditions, often doing breakfast, lunch and dinner together…always just the boys.
Keith Urban Puts ‘American Idol’ on His Radar
Keith goes on to underscore how important it is for an aspiring young artist to feel comfortable in their own skin.
“I think a lot of artists just need to find their own way too, ” he notes. “You’ve just got to be yourself. Because there’s no rules to any of it.”
One aspiring young artist in particular who stands out to Keith is American Idol’s Season 8 winner, Kris Allen. The two performed a duet of Keith’s ‘Kiss a Girl’ during the show’s final performance, impressing the country superstar so much that he’s now looking to collaborate with Kris in the studio.
“He’s got a great new song out right now which I really love, ” Keith raves. “And I love playing with him. His management reached out to ours, and we thought it would be a good combination. So I’d like to figure out a song we could do together!”
