Milwaukee’s Naima Adedapo stays true to her roots on Mother’s Day

Former American Idol Contestant Naima Adedapo is relaxing, and celebrates Mother’s Day with her family. Adedapo needed the break from Idol, and says she’ll cherish this Mother’s Day for the rest of her life.

Between appearances, raveling to Chicago to work on her music, and raising her daughters Nalani and Abiola, Naima is spent. No matter how tired she might be, she wants time with her family on holidays.

Naima’s mother, Adekola, has had the biggest influence on Naima not only as an artist, but a person. She says, “As a teenager you’re always like, ‘I’m not going to be like my momma when I grow up. I’m not doing this.’, but inevitably I’ve kind of transformed into a different form of her.”.

Dancing’s Karina Smirnoff: This Will Be the Sexiest You’ll Ever See Ralph

After tumbling during their paso doble, Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff staged an impressive comeback last week on Dancing with the Stars, nabbing their first 10 to top the leader board. “That felt so great!” Smirnoff tells TVGuide.com. “When I fell and Ralph was there for me 100 percent, that made us stronger as a couple. I knew I could rely on him 150 percent and he was there for me. That made us realize I’m only as strong as he is and he’s only as strong as I am. It made us better together as a team and I think we’re better than ever.” The two hope to keep their momentum going this week with their “insanely cool” Viennese waltz and their cha-cha, which will be the Instant Dance. See what they have up their sleeves and why they want to get Len new scoring paddles.

Paula Abdul Joins Simon Cowell’s ‘X Factor, ‘ But Can They Hurt ‘Idol’?

Speaking for myself, I have found this to be by far the most unwatchable season in the show’s history, both because of the excruciatingly boring contestants and because of the fawning, content-free judging. I literally could not care less which of the remaining contestants wins: Haley, the fake tough girl with the unconvincing and affected growl; James, the Adam Lambert imitator who really makes me miss Adam Lambert; the inoffensive but unimaginative Lauren Alaina; or Scotty McCreery, whose smug, sneering imitation of country authenticity reminds me of Walk Hard. It’s the first season I’ve ever checked out of completely, and that’s before you even consider the spectacularly awful judging, which has essentially consisted of every judge praising every performance in almost exactly the same words.

Matthew Morrison: ‘Someone’s Dying Pretty Soon’ on ‘Glee’

Matthew Morrison confirms that “someone’s dying pretty soon” on “Glee” — but it probably won’t be his character, teacher Will Schuester, who leaves the mortal coil on the May 17 episode, which is titled “Funeral.” “I’m working today, ” he tells Billboard.com from the Fox show’s set, “so I don’t think it’s gonna be me.”

Morrison, in fact, is working on more than one front these days.

His self-titled debut album drops on Tuesday (May 10) and features the single “Summer Rain” — one of four songs Morrison co-wrote for the set — as well as duets with Sting, on a gospelized take of his “Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot”; Elton John, on a pairing of “Mona Lisas and Madhatters” and “Rocket Man”; and recurring “Glee” guest Gwyneth Paltrow on “Over the Rainbow.” A 22-city solo tour, meanwhile, kicks off June 18 in Minneapolis.
