Sons of Sylvia to Perform on Wednesday’s Results Show
via @Idoltracker: So many performers on Wednesday’s Idol: Sons of Sylvia, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flats and Shakira!
(Sons of Sylvia used to be called the Clark Brothers. Some of you might remember them as the winners of 19E’s ill-fated The Next Great American Band back in 2007. Also, Ashley Clark played fiddle in Carrie Underwood’s band. Sons of Sylvia are currently opening for Carrie on her tour.)
Front-runner? So? Bowersox could lose ‘Idol’
As we head into the homestretch of the “American Idol” season, there’s one thing that is abundantly clear: Crystal Bowersox is the overwhelming favorite. It seems like all she has to do is make it through the next five weeks without throwing up onstage or deciding to quit without letting the heroic and selfless Ryan Seacrest talk her out of it. (Well, that’s one version of the story, at least.)
Not so fast.

Cape Cod goes Siobhan crazy — literally
By looking at Jack MacDonald of Bourne, Mass., one wouldn’t think, here’s the kind of guy who’d display a life-size cardboard cutout of Siobhan Magnus, complete with faux judges’ table and microphone stand, on his front lawn. But somewhat disturbingly, that’s exactly what this Cape Codder did as his “small part” to get the community to rally behind its local wonder as she pursues her “American Idol” dream.
And he’s not ruling out an expansion. Should she progress, Siobhan’s shrine, which lights up at night, could grow to include the Hollywood Hills and various celebrity cameos.
Tim Urban On Good Day NY
MYFOXNY.COM – A flip of the hair got Tim Urban, 20, lots of attention throughout his run on American Idol, but what the aspiring singer didn’t get was enough votes to stay on the show. Urban was booted from the top seven. On Monday, he stopped by the Good Day NY studios for an interview with co-host Rosanna Scotto.
“I haven’t really been able to catch my breath. Running up to New York. I’m going to be on Letterman tonight, ” Urban said. “After the tour is over the plan is to head out to L.A. and see what’s out there in acting… maybe in Glee.”
Urban is one of nine children in his family, most of whom are singers and entertainers.
“We could be a cool little group, ” said Urban.
Michael Johns sees Lee and Crystal in a David vs. David final showdown
The Season 7 heartthrob says his personal standouts are Crystal Bowersox, Lee DeWyze and Casey James, but that it will probably come down to the first two in the finale. “Casey doesn’t need to be in the Top 2 to have a career, ” he says. “Casey’s set.”
As for a Crystal and Lee showdown, “it would be awesome, ” he adds. “It would be like David [Cook] and David [Archuleta] or Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee, where you don’t know which way it will go.”
He adds that it took a while for this season to “get its stripes.” “I didn’t like it at first, ” he says. “It wasn’t until the Top 8 when you could really see their confidence come through.”
Gina Glocksen is auditioning for Glee with the rest of the Hoi Palloi. Check it out HERE. (You can still vote for her)
David Archuleta scholarship fundraising raises questions
MURRAY — A group of David Archuleta fans have donated $5, 800 to Murray High School for a music scholarship — but the fundraising process is raising red flags.
The check cleared, and Murray High counselor Amy Knox says the fan group’s spokesperson seems to have “good intentions.”
However, there are questions that remain unanswered, including whether the group has Archuleta’s permission to do the fundraising and why the group touts tax-deductible donations while not being registered as a charity or nonprofit organization.
Regardless, Murray School District is accepting the scholarship money for now.

‘America’s Got Talent’ judges weigh in on ‘American Idol’s’ empty seat
While former “American Idol” producer Nigel Lythgoe isn’t shy about sharing what he thinks “Idol” needs to do next season with judge Simon Cowell’s vacated spot, the judges for that other reality competition show — “America’s Got Talent” are bit more measured.
“It’s a bit like following Sinatra in Vegas, ” Piers Morgan says on a break between auditions for the new season of “AGT.” “Those are very, very difficult shoes to fill.
“The big stars have commitments. ‘Idol’ is a four to five-month commitment.”
