VH1 renews ‘Fantasia For Real’
You can only win “American Idol” once but, apparently, you can be a reality TV star forever–or at least two seasons–if you’re Fantasia Barrino.
As part of its Upfront presentation to advertisers on Tuesday, VH1 will announce that it has renewed “Fantasia For Real” for another season.
The docu-style show will continue to follow the “Idol” third-season winner as she works with Sony on her third album and takes care of her family.
Oddsmakers say Idol finale will be Crystal v. Lee
Seven singers remain in the competition, but according to the fan buzz and the oddsmakers, “Idol” is nothing but a two-horse race.
Crystal Bowersox — the inventive, guitar-wielding single mom — and Lee DeWyze — the raspy-voiced, disarmingly handsome kid from suburban Chicago — are being touted as shoo-ins for the final two come May.
“Should he make it to the finals, which is a decent possibility, [DeWyze] is probably the only one who can defeat Crystal, ” writes Shayne Zucker, one of the scores of chronic “Idol” bloggers who are predicting a Crystal-Lee finale.

Carrie Underwood Wins Country Music’s Top Award
LAS VEGAS (Reuters) – Carrie Underwood was named country music’s top entertainer for the second year in a row on Sunday and Miranda Lambert won three awards, including best album, as the two young women ruled the once male-dominated Academy of Country Music Awards.

Adam Lambert settles in atop ‘Idol’ airplay chart
Adam Lambert remains atop the American Idol airplay chart this week, according to Mediabase. From the looks of things, he could stay there a few more weeks, as long as he keeps getting consistent spins for Whataya Want From Me. The track’s freshest competition, Kelly Clarkson’s All I Ever Wanted, is already losing spins at Top 40 (though it actually moved up a slot, to No. 38 this week). And it’s not like the two singles that moved into the top 40 of their formats this weeks — Bucky Covington’s A Father’s Love (The Only Way He Knew How) at Country and Phil Stacey’s Some Kind of Love at Christian AC — are going to threaten his position any time soon.
Katie Stevens and Andrew Garcia talk ‘Idol’ at the ‘Dream’ house
As has become a Friday tradition, we spent the evening having dinner with the week’s eliminated “American Idol” contestant at the “If I Can Dream” house. Only on this go-round, there were two of them. Katie Stevens and Andrew Garcia joined the Dreamers, which now include former Top 24 contender Alex Lambert, for taco night, filling them in on “Idol’s” early mornings and jam-packed days, which were especially rough on 17-year-old Katie, who had to attend school at the same time.
We all learned a lot about the process (like how individual contestants get only 15 minutes with the mentor!), and about these hopefuls, who’ve survived every form of critique — good and bad — in their two-plus months of competition.

Adam Lambert Should Replace Simon Cowell on ‘American Idol’
So perhaps in that atmosphere, Adam Lambert’s visit last week as a mentor was destined to be something special. Lambert’s proven to be something of a lightning rod, as his 2009 American Music Award appearance and run on last season’s ‘Idol’ showed, but he wasn’t on the show last Tuesday night as a singer.
He was there as a mentor. To put it plainly, Adam Lambert was great in that role and, if given the chance, he could be a legitimate replacement for Simon Cowell.

Kelly Clarkson all dressed down at gig – not that anyone would notice
IT SEEMS Kelly Clarkson’s management really aren’t keen for the American Idol star to be seen up close by fans, as they discovered during her Acer Arena show at the weekend.
As we reported yesterday, there were no big screens at the show, meaning most of the 10, 000 people in the half-full venue could hardly see her or her facial expressions – now a standard feature at most Acer shows.
