Jason Aldean Finds a Way to ‘Stay’ Close to Kelly Clarkson

Bryan Bedder, Getty Images
Jason Aldean’s duet with Kelly Clarkson, ‘Don’t You Wanna Stay, ‘ is such a smash hit, he’s taking the pop star on the road with him every night to perform it. Well, sort of.

The dynamic pair debuted the song during the CMA Awards back in November, receiving a standing ovation for their emotionally-charged performance. Now, with Jason on the road with his My Kinda Party tour, the singer has found an innovative way to have his duet partner join him on stage. Kelly is seen on a big screen behind Jason singing her part of the duet on tape when he performs the song live in concert.

“We looked for a way to make her a part of the show because she can’t be here every night to sing with me, ” Jason tells The Boot. “It’s cool; it kinda looks like she’s live from satellite. And none of my guys look or sing like that!”

Star Exclusive: Steven Tyler’s Teen Lover

In the Feb. 14 issue of Star, on sale now, we report that as the rocker rose to fame, he fell head-over-heels in love with a 15-year-old girl — and their three-year relationship was marked by drug abuse, an abortion and a miscarriage.

“Everyone thought they were both nuts when they got together, ” says a friend of the couple, who met when Steven was 25. “But it was typical of the rock ‘n’ roll decadence of the ’70s; it couldn’t have happened in any other era. Steven was totally in love with Julia. Women threw themselves at him, but he didn’t want anyone else!”

Glee Cast Reveals Secrets (and Secret Fantasies) for Season 2.5

But the show’s charmingly vexing approach to linear (or even recognizable) plot development means that over the past nine weeks, you may have forgotten, or simply never bothered to register, some of the Bryce Canyon worth of jagged cliffhangers the writers “constructed” to fill out 2010. Fortunately, as VF.com’s resident Glee maven, I’ve constructed an intensely complex online spreadsheet–database–search engine that not only tracks every pairing and unanswered question the series has posed but also scours fan sites, blogs, and Twitter feeds to identify, collate, and rank the most important and viral/pestilential questions folks have about Glee Season 2.5.

To do this, I’ve assembled the world’s greatest panel of experts: my five favorite Glee cast members. Max Adler, Chord Overstreet, Kevin McHale, Harry Shum Jr., and Heather Morris tell us exactly what you can (and can’t) expect in the coming weeks—as well as provide their good-natured and hilarious responses to my usual incitements, lecherousness, and innuendo.

‘Glee’ diva Amber Riley channels Chaka Khan in this month’s ‘Essence’

How fierce does Glee‘s Amber Riley look in this fashion spread from Essence magazine’s Black Women in Hollywood issue? Fierce enough that I don’t even care that using the word “fierce” is so 2007.

Given Riley’s inspiration, it’s no wonder she looks fabulous. The big-voiced actress is supposed to be channeling Chaka Khan — a woman who knows how to seriously rock a sparkly ensemble. Riley and Khan go together so well that Essence is even launching a Facebook campaign calling for Glee to do a full episode devoted to the Queen of Funk.
